  1. yeah, typo on my phone. There are two different DIN plug angles, it's hard to tell what that one is. They definitely have a female of both angles though.
  2. Rodrigo: Check a company named Lundberg at Farnell, I think they have something. Real nice connectors, I use them on my test gear.
  3. so, I googled that gadget.. yeah, i see why that would be the proper tool for the job. I can try and find that weird metric thread. Am I basically looking for a threaded rod that could be cut down? The stock ones look like Delrin.
  4. Yeah, I saw that. It just won't fit my ugly un-hip corporate issued last years model that was wildly unpopular so let's sell them to our own employees HP Elite Book.
  5. absolutely. I've been meaning to post here. Please post ticket info once you guys get a lead on that. I'll post more about logistics when I get some free time.
  6. You can also heat the PCB (and the heat sink) up with a heat gun. That will help a lot. But the key is as big a tip as you got and a bit of flux.
  7. They look like this. The back side is the same as the door knob versions (some half-metric size, no idea where to get that... It seems like a M3.5?)
  8. interestingly enough, red wires don't always go to the positive tab on drivers. Glad you have the other one to look
  9. Thanks Mike and Dinny. I was lax about responding, I'm sorry. Regardless, they wouldn't fit. I just bought a size 4 Tom Bihn Brain Cell. My plan is to use it inside my Tri Star and also carry it naked when I need to. We will see how that works.
  10. I'm not sure what a matching tweeter means, but I can send a pic if you would like. They are white two ways sitting on a stand with solid wood sides and a smoked black plexiglass front. Good luck finding something!
  11. Kevin, what is the maximum input on these modules? I have seen some that say 3V. For my use I need something that will take a decent amount of voltage. None of chip amps seem to do that.
  12. What about some DIY speakers? I need to move some and would be willing to do an extended trial including delivery and pickup. I am about resigned that I'll take a loss on these and might as well have it be to someone that I know and like
  13. So, I need an amp as well and sorta want to decide on something fast, as I'm trying to decide between a couple other options and need to consider the entire budget. I need a cheap balanced speaker amp. Actually, I need two and would treat them as monoblocks. It seems some of these chip amps will be fine with a differential input, so some could be modified I'd assume. Ideas?
  14. so, can't you drive this from a balanced input signal using a single board? If so, I'd take the two prototype boards. edit: nm, it's input voltage is too low for my application.
  15. So, here's an interesting anecdote. These speakers* (kinda, mine use the newer DX4, but no need to split hairs) were supposedly BBC reference design for a time and were replaced by the Quad ESL57. Whether this is true or not, I could very well see the similarities. They are really growing on me. I'm talking with a wood vendor to really dress these up. Interestingly, they have a solid piece of Wenge that would span the front of these (didn't ask the price). I also got the new phase plugs in the mail. Anyone want to turn some wood for me? It would be cool to copy them in some exotic.
  16. There is some relationship between Jensen and Cinemag and you might find the two to be exactly the same sounding. I did for the two I was comparing. Is there an Onetics step-up option? If so, you might add it to your list.
  17. I think he did fine. I like this thread and had forgotten about it. This implies he used the search button / topic browsing a fair bit, which is a plus in my book.
  18. Planed two trips to the cocktail Mecca (SF), last week in Feb. and again the first week in March
  19. Note: this isn't a web forum but a group of friends hanging out at their favorite neighborhood bar. No need to be an ass.
  20. I'd take the PT.
  21. This maybe? http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2768277
  22. The part is Neutrik NC3MXCC. They are not listed as 110 ohm, but they are made specifically for balanced digital.
  23. nice knob voltron! glad it makes you happy!
  24. Did the board look hand soldered? I would recommend the Scientific Conversion transformers. I even have one on hand i could sell you They measure insanely good and I'm using them on my ADC and they don't disappoint.
  25. Hm, cannot say I can agree with that line of thought, seems rather circular and presumptive.
