  1. what's the voltage you're testing them at? iirc, the datasheet numbers assume 10V. And, in case you are curious... "rebadged" == "fake... avoid"
  2. Um, not for idiots, but the best explanation I've found: http://www.hagtech.com/loading.html
  3. Don't we have an emoticon for that here?
  4. G&G My Father Le Bijou Very impressive
  5. What is known as Zenith? Did I win the Daily Double?
  6. hm, perhaps let the phono stage warm up and try then?
  7. Kevin, if you do model it, I'd be curious about the distortion and it's relative harmonic magnitudes.
  8. i think this is a poor requirement for the pleb-amp, but that's just me.
  9. I'd use a mosfet CCS, like the BHSE uses. If you want to do some R&D, then an opto-coupler biased CCS would be my choice... or, add another tube and do a pentode CCS.
  10. I like Audio Consulting stuff in general. They do know how to make transformers.
  11. Shelly, I've heard the same rumor. However, I have access to a few bottles, and could probably make a deal for you on one. However, in my opinion, I prefer the SpringBank CV.
  12. Ok, I have figured out what I need. Anyone have a recommendation for a flush mount pin socket? Also, called a miniature spring socket? Anyone used these before?
  13. Hard to say really. How will you be using the amps? What will be connected to them exactly?
  14. I figured Dinny would put the $500 towards potential credit card interest and just start the DACes revolving door on its merry way.
  15. Frank, I am curious if you would consider the argument that sources which offer balanced output, even if this output isn't the one used, sound better on average than their single-ended only counterparts?
  16. Recipe? Vegetarian?
  17. I would use the THAT chip instead. If you need a board look here: http://sjostromaudio.com/
  18. I'd contact this guy and see what he can do for you: http://www.diyaudio....-class-amp.html Perhaps just send the Gerber's to BatchPCB and get some one-offs made, or use the part position for your own veroboard layout.
  19. Sounds more like an audiophile than an academic.
  20. Heading to the Fort and got bumped to first class! Yay! Any recommendations on a place to eat near BWI? Have a dinner tomorrow that I need to have an important conversation over
  21. Still love these
  22. Grape vine sounds cool, never tried that.
  23. Does anyone happen to know the exact hole locations for the hifi2000 Galaxy Maggiorato cases? It seems .2"/.3" from the corner and a M4 countersunk screw. It seems that their tolerance isn't great, for example the corner radii.
