Looks like we have a pair of the Ethers coming to a meet I will be attending a couple of weeks from now. I'll have either a KGST (400v) or a Carbon with me. Should be interesting. HS

Wow...I listened to that first CD of theirs a lot in my 20's. RIP Attrell... HS

From what I understand of the TX law, an establishment simply needs to post up that no patrons with guns are permitted and they are covered. The company I work for, as an example, does that at all its facilities. You're found with a gun or bullet in your vehicle in the parking lot and they can show you your pink slip. Having said all that, there are a lot of weapons. I don't have a problem with that per se, but I do with some of the crazy SOB's that have access to them. It's a tough topic. HS

Have to share this coffee I've been drinking a few weeks now as it is every bit as good as my favorites from George Howell. It is not inexpensive, but it is exceptionally good IMO http://www.doubleshotcoffee.com/collections/south-america/products/maduro The beans are beautiful...not some mixed bag of sizes, shapes, etc... He clearly puts a lot of love into locating the best growers and takes premium lots, that are subsequently handled with TLC. I also tried this sun dried La Minita which is also very good. Doesn't quite have as much character as the Columbian Maduro which surprised me a bit, so it's a nice option if you prefer a milder coffee. It is still very very good. I just prefer the Columbian. http://www.doubleshotcoffee.com/collections/central-america/products/la-minita-sundried Cheers, HS

Dear Lord.....it just keeps coming this year. RIP Mr. Howe. They don't make them like him anymore. Shocking to see Ms. Grimmie lose her life so senselessly. The world is going to seed it seems some days. RIP Christina. Godspeed... HS

51st state...that's going to leave a mark. Watching our politics these days, run while you can... The Quixote dip or whatever his handle is over there suggested that the KG amps could be creating the imbalance problem. And he pointed to a specific builder that's nothing but a gentlemen and kindly builds quality amps for those of us that are less talented on the electrical front. They removed his posts along with mine pushing back on it being an unfortunate post. Unfortunately somebody quoted the bonehead. There was also some drivel about a beautiful build John has for sale. It hurts reading that thread these days. HS

RIP Mr. Kwouk. Could not get enough of those movies in my youth... HS

I got it, buddy. I looked it up earlier on youtube and immediately popped up a Larry and Steve live jam....great stuff! Thanks for sharing. Hope the builds are going well for you. HS

Thanks, Soren. Hope all is well with you. Larry is an amazing guitar player. If you like bluesy stuff, check out Bozz Scaggs and Duane Allman playing Loan Me a Dime...good stuff. HS

There's a lot of debate re the 650's and the "veil" term and I appreciate where you're coming from. If all I listen to are the 650s, there's no issue to speak of for me. If I switch to something more transparent like my e-stat rig in the same session then it jumps out of me. Don't know if it's a brain burn-in issue or what, but it does underscore the differences between the setups and the 650's are far less neutral to my ears. I'd hear the same thing on other sets of cans I've owned over the last few years, but that's just me. Never ceases to amaze me how we hear things so differently in the community...probably a good thing. Just makes comparisons posted on the interwebs more challenging... I listen to a lot of guitar music. Larry Carlton and Robben Ford "Unplugged" I can't seem to get enough of. Grant Green and Hubert Laws playing Creature...wow. HS

Grew up with this gent on the tube. RIP, Alan... HS

Lucky friend! I would be curious about the HD800, but I don't think so much on my Dynalo+. I found the TH900's easier to listen to on the Woo WA7 than the Dynalo+...just a bit too hot up top for me. I've found as I get older I'm more sensitive about peaky treble and I fear the HD800 would be way too much for me. The HD650's, on the other hand, are very nice out of the Dynalo+. I enjoyed them for a good while as my primaries until I started down the e-stat path. For my dynamic rig I finally settled on the TH900's out of the Woo and shelved the 650's. I found that if I listened to only the the HD650's, they were great. The brain burn would happen after a couple of days and I wasn't at all bothered by the veil or whatever one would like to refer to as that slightly less than transparent sound...like everything has had the edges smoothed off a bit too much. This amp helps that IMO, and I find that the 650's are tough to beat on the value for money scale. HS

You outdid yourself, John....congratulations! HS

Very tidy....nice! My GS-1 Dynalo+ has brought me back around to my shelved HD650's. Great pairing IMO. HS

With the motor and turbo system test fitted, time to start buttoning up the driveline. Rossler 4L80E trans. I can shift it manual or auto, but the key is it handles the power and has overdrive for the standing mile events. [/URL] The rear cradle was showing cracks from several years of abuse so gusseting in order Trans serviceable with the harness installed in a way it can be dropped w/o having to drop the whole driveline I've been running hard piping for a while so it needed an update for the rebuild given repositioning of some bits... My Corsa exhaust from 2009 modified to fit the system and with some manual cutouts...less back pressure for the turbo system should I need it at the track The Ford 9" rear end with Wavetrac differential is worth it's weight... The black hoop over the DS is a rear safety loop.HS
