Wow....just wow! Underground has been building amazing cars for years and the Lamborghinis are there specialty. Brilliant platform if one can afford to play. AWD, great aero, and the aftermarket is there. They gear very specifically for the half mile. Great stuff! And they have the runway to slow down without a chute which reduces risks significantly. Nice! The Smith & Cross will definitely put hair on one's chest. Saw it at the store during my short stint in London (my one expat job that didn't pan out nearly long enough...the roles in developing countries always seemed to last beyond their quoted tenures...LOL). Gosslings is good. I used to drink a good bit of Black Seal back in the day and use it where a dark rum is called for (e.g. Planter's Punch). Mostly I drink South Bay on ice (it's my daily). Can't beat the value for money....takes a few minutes to relax but it does so very nicely. The Opthimus I'll quote below is of the same maker. My favorite rums that are in the house now: Zafra 21 yr (amazing bang for the buck) and my absolute favorite although it's pricey Zafra 30 yr, Opthimus 25 yr (just the plain not the whiskey barrel aged yada yada others) is likely the second best I've ever had, Flor d Cana 25 yr, Gosslings Old Rum, Cartavio XO (great rum for the money...really needs time to breathe). I've got several more but that's a nice list IMO. HS

Not sure if this is the correct thread so if not please point me in the appropriate direction. Well, to keep it simple I drink rum. Plenty of it. Mostly on ice, but occasionally I venture out and I've been on a bit of a tiki drink thing during the warmer weather here in Texas. I came across this cocktail which I found quite nice. Jamaican Breeze slice of ginger (I suggest about the size of a nickle and muddling dependent on how much ginger bite one enjoys) 1.5oz of a good quality gold rum (I really like South Bay but may not be easy to find so perhaps a Flor de Cana) 2oz pineapple juice 1/2oz simple syrup (aka gomme syrup for the more refined...) 1 dash angostura bitters My suggestions: muddle the ginger is a 1/2oz of the rum you'll use. Drop that mixture into a shaker with a lot of crushed ice. Drop in the remaining rum, pineapple juice, simple syrup, and bitters. Shake vigorously (I suggest 10 seconds and be mean spirited...) and pour over a tumbler of ice. Viola... You can adjust the simple syrup, ginger / muddling aggressiveness and rum to your taste. I found this one quite pleasant. Happy imbibing.... HS

OK....that gave me a chubby! Wow that was sexy driving. 225-226mph for extended period....yummy chow. To beat prior vehicles by that kind of margin I need to better understand. Regardless...that driver is a fricken rock star. Wow. HS

I understand where you're coming from. They are very different to me. Obviously I chose the Rolex first...the silvery white needs to be seen in person IMO. Nothing like the polar white on the other models. nI very much like the mechanical nature of the Speedmaster in its appearance. There's a lot going on with the face, but it's all business. Retro yet not. I'll own one. Just a matter of which one and when. I do like the size of the FOIS very much...less than 39mm. 42mm is too big for me. HS

The red grape dial was indeed very nice in person. I left a deposit for a white 39mm oyster perpetual after test driving the Omegas. The salesman kindly tossed in a Wolf winder. I informed the Rolex salesman that I was headed to the Omega shop next to help narrow down my purchase as I try to be respectful of a professional's time. In the end the Rolex was my top choice, but I'm still eyeing the First Omega in Space. I'm to receive a call today on how long the wait will be. It was interesting to see how low the stock was on these in an official Rolex boutique. HS

Took a few watches for a spin... Forgive my fur but it doesn't get any better ? The Rolex shop only had the white dial in a 36mm so I tried the only 39mm they had in stock, red grape. The good news was I got to see the white in person...elegant and different from the other white dials from other models. The 39mm felt right for me. Interestingly, the pics make the 36 look better proportionally than it did to me in person. The Omegas were very nice and a lot of fun. They had two of the three '57's on hand...unfortunately the Speedmaster was not in stock. The First Omega in Space (FOIS) Speedmaster was hard to pass on. Not crazy about the strap, but the watch itself has so much going for it IMO. HS

Very nice! What I struggle with on these older cars is visualizing proportions. In other words, they can be quite a bit longer/bigger than they appear to me on the photo. Is that a big car relative to say something modern? The craftsmanship looks amazing. HS

There is a lot of win right there....great pics! The modern HEMI motor in the convertible 1971 or so Barracuda is a nice touch. And when some carbon fiber is not enough carbon fiber...LOL. Thanks for sharing. HS

Good looking watches, luv. The site makes you work to identify sizes of cases. 41.5mm is about as small as I found with my short search. I've been watching some videos which I find more helpful than just the images I've been focused on primarily. At the moment I am inclined for one of these. Thinking 39mm but I'd like to try them on again in both 39 and 36mm. Leaning towards the Rhodium but I very much like all 3 faces. Thoughts? HS

If there is truth in the thought that an artist should elicit emotion good or bad I'd argue this watch does it for me. Yes and no. Very cool. Would never had thunk it up on my own. HC FTW. HS

LOL...fair point. To be honest, I like the Railmaster, but less so in the '57. Maybe it's the pics but the appearance of the gray ring where the case and crystal meet is bugging me. I do like it in the all brushed look on the current standard one, though. But...it's a 40mm and I'm thinking I want to go a bit smaller. HS

I've been going down the Omega rabbit hole studying options. Gotta love a lot of what they do. I recall reading here, if I'm not mistaken, the stainless bands on the Rolex are more comfy. Is that so? HS

ER, I've read about that Tudor after it was called out here and I've got a mental block or something. Likely due to a lack of education on my part about the brand. I need to see one in person and maybe that will help me grow to appreciate the love that goes into making them. I like the idea but I'm not getting the feels. The human condition... HS

Very cool! I was not familiar with the brand so it's cool to learn of it. The Explorer is a good looking option I have looked at regularly as I've studied the Rolex options. I like it. One thing I think would be good is to have the band be brushed to avoid more scratches than necessary, although with time I realize it will be a tool. I have a Baume & Mercier that's a shiny tank and it's beautiful but every few years I have it polished (a lot of work) as the "patina" gets be a bit much. HS

Had not been thinking about this watch. I love my wife's Aqua Terra on her...elegant and the clean style with the mother of pearl face make her smile. Will will have a look. I'm thinking this is probably a bit more evening like (probably a poor analogy) than I'm looking for, but I need to be open minded. Obviously I need to drive some of these.
