Van Der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts
-
I just ordered one, Christmas gift from me to me.

How's kangaroo meat? It seems to be pretty hard to obtain in Canada, but I'd certainly be interested to try that someday. *cue animal defense league protest*

So Dinny, are you on a NDA or what? Color doesn't influence sound as far as I can tell.
-
Happy birthday man!

Congrats kelvinz, they really nailed the artwork on your pair. How's the fit?
-
Sorry about the bad news Monkey. If you need a radical plan, you can always get some inspiration from this classic holiday movie:
-
Nice looking pair Grahame! I'm looking forward to your burn-in reports guys.
-
You won't regret your choice Dinny, trust me. I'll be interested to find out how you like them compared to your SR-007.

Quick impressions, after that I'll need to go work a bit: - I'll never deal again with UPS unless I'm forced to. - I was worried about having to send them for refit after reading many stories here, but it turns about the fit is about perfect. Let's say 100% perfect for left ear and 98% for right ear, but I'm splitting hairs. I tried to break the seal by doing different facial movements, but I just can't. Comfort is great. - I'll try to do a proper review sometimes in the next few weeks, but all that's been said about these IEMs so far is true and I'm just using them out of a Sansa Clip+ right now. Smooth sound all across the frequency spectrum, never harsh and very detailed. Impressive soundstage. - Burn-in: they really opened up after 12 minutes and 45 seconds.

Enough with all this RSA talk, time to get back on track.

Happy birthday!

Not sure it would pair well with balanced armature drivers though.

Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink

You mean their French accent or Dutch? Both are funny as far as I'm concerned.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZFr2Fh66zs Incredible performance by one of the greatest francophone singers of all-time, the late Jacques Brel. Some of you might know David Bowie's cover of this song.

Your dog is awesome, I'm glad everything went well with the procedure and I hope he'll recover fast. I really miss having a dog, they're such a comforting presence in a house, it feels empty without them.

Anyone else using Google Chrome beta for OS X? It's been out for a few days and I could definitely see it replacing Firefox as my everyday browser. It boots almost instantaneously, uses less RAM than Firefox and way less than Safari, and feels very fast. I could never make the switch to Safari because it lacks a couple of very useful features, the biggest one being an "undo close tab" shortcut. Google Chrome cures that and so far the transition from Firefox is very natural. I'd recommend everyone to give it a try, I'm very impressed.

That connector's really ugly. I guess it opens the doors for Ray to start selling balanced cables.

I called them again because they didn't call me back before 7PM as they promised and gave them hell once more. I'll get the package on Monday, but they'll cut 33$ out of the 37$ they were supposed to charge me for their brokerage fraud fees. Better than nothing I guess.

I'm fucking pissed at UPS right now. After yesterday's bullshit, they give me this crap today: 4:52 P.M. THE RECEIVER DID NOT HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE The thing is, I was here all day and the bell never rang, there was no UPS truck in sight and I sure as hell didn't tell to a UPS guy that I didn't have the funds. I rarely get angry, but this shit pisses me off to no end. I just talk to a rep on the phone and filed a complaint and they're supposed to get me in contact with the service center to see if they can deliver the package tonight, but my gut feeling tells me it'll go to Monday.

You're talking out of your ass, there's no real logic in that. I still practice the sports I used to practice when I was younger, and I do still listen to a lot of symphonic music even though I was always surrounded by it (my mom is a professional violinist).

Are Netbooks Good for Music?
GPH replied to The Monkey's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
It might be worth it for listening to music and watching videos, but if you plan to do any serious work, it won't replace a real laptop. I have a MSI Wind U100 and I find that just browsing the internet on a 10'' screen is a tedious task, and I never get as productive as on my MacBook for writing documents. The slower speed doesn't bother me so much compared to the screen size/resolution. I liked the idea of getting a netbook and the tech gadget freak inside me wanted one so I bought one for cheap to see if it would suit me, but in the end I think a 13''-14'' laptop is best compromise between portability and good computer experience. -
Got my package from Dinny yesterday, it says Bryston or something on the box and weights a ton, I wonder if he misread the original post and thought this was a DAC exchange. Mine goes out tomorrow morning.
