Kevin, I have a layout question. The anodes of the two large (in diameter) electrolytic capacitors have square pads whereas the anodes or all smaller electrolytic capacitors have round pads. Is there a reason for this or is it just an oversight in the layout?
and no significant other. They may be the ugliest speakers I have seen. They are so ugly, they have negative WAF. Not only will you have to get rid of the speakers, but they make all of the surrounding audio equipment ugly so you'll have to get rid of them too.
I love my HD800, but definitely want to hear a modded version. So I'll try the mod on mine. I like my HF2 a lot too, but not as much as the HD800 and the HF2 is not near as comfortable either. Maybe you need to hear it out of a good amp?
Your advice to Dinny is spot on.
While I'm "Extreme"ly happy with my HD800, I'll be happy to give it a try. I'm assuming that since you tried many different materials and thicknesses, that the mod is easily reversible? Otherwise, you went though a lot of pairs of HD800s.
Edit: Actually, I'm "Menace"ly happy, though "Lite"ly.
Thanks. I'll try to find my stylus brush or buy one. I also need to get some rice paper inner sleeves. Some of mine are in desperate shape from just sitting around for 30+ years.
To answer your question, I now really only play Diamond Mine in Bejeweled. It's perfect for my ADD. I usually keep an instance of Bejeweled minimized. Then, when I'm bored doing something on the computer, I just play a quick game of Diamond Mine and then I'm back to whatever I was doing.
Certainly that doesn't stop you. You have many friends here who would be happy to buy them for you and ship them to Iceland. I'm sure a certain amp designer does it all the time.
