I have another idea, Justin. Why don't you design and build such a DAC? I'm sure that you can find some good starting points out there. It also would be more impressive if, when someone asked "what's that great sounding DAC", you could say it's something that you cooked up. I realize that this wouldn't happen overnight. You could always buy an inexpensive solution to use until yours is ready.

The SB6121 is on the list. I'm going to Costco tomorrow anyway so will check for a modem there. If they don't have anything appropriate, I'll probably order the SB6121 from Amazon.

I have a cable modem that has the feature of a "land line" phone. I'm not using the phone and am tired of paying for it. I can cancel the feature but then have to supply my own cable modem. I plan on buying a modem that supports Docsis 3. Can anybody recommend for or against any particular brands or models? Thanks in advance for your advice.

We'll see. I haven't heard back from them yet. From doing a google search, this wood is either "Bee wood" or Manikara. Edit: Just got an email from my friend. He and his wife will "puzzle it out". For me, the problem more was deciphering the hand-written words (i.e. determine the letters of the word). They'll be able to do that.

Speaking Quebecois won't help. The note isn't in French, it's in Belge!

Marc, I could give it a try. If I can't understand it, I'll send to my friend in France. He and his wife (she's French) won't have any trouble with it.

If you are going to do more opamp swapping, you might see about putting a socket in rather than solder the new one.
