  1. Happy Birthday, Colin :prettyprincess: Enjoy the day.
  2. This is more of a general whisk(e)y question than a scotch question. I have a 6-bottle wine holder. As it should for wine, the bottles are stored such that their tops (the cork end) are lower than the rest of the bottle. Is there a problem with keeping bottles of whisky? Or is it really important to store whisky bottles up right?
  3. Happy Birthday, Dr. Wood :prettyprincess: I hope that your California dreams are coming true.
  4. I think that Headphones will replace speaker-based Hi-Fi, not save it. I recently received a copy of Audio Advisor. The cover and first 14 pages are dedicated to headphones and headphone products. Not very long ago, the only mention of headphones in AA was a couple of Grados and Sennheisers for sale.
  5. Happy Birthday, Ed! :prettyprincess: Have a great one and keep the smoke out of your eyes.
  6. Happy birthday :prettyprincess: Have a great one!
  7. It's just a little pat of butter. (With apologies to Monty Python)
  8. Happy Birthday, Stephen. :prettyprincess: Hope it was a great one with lots of frolicking.
  9. Remember what?
  10. Happy Birthday Jeff! :prettyprincess: Maybe you can celebrate a bit more today.
  11. Rule #1 with power tools is "Always unplug the tool before monkeying with it". You got off pretty lucky. I'm glad.
  12. Maybe you should consider Grado HF-2 headphones, especially those that read "Head-Fi" rather than "Head-F1". I haven't listened to mine for over a year and would consider selling them.
  13. I'm thinking more in just having the top be acrylic. I would think that a reasonably thick (whatever that is) of plexiglass would be strong enough. Of course, I don't really know what criteria you use to determine necessary strength.
  14. The new Black Diamond prototype looks great, Doug. Still, you know how much I like being able to see into my DSHA-1 prototype. You do such gorgeous design and layout. Other people here also seem to like looking in. I can't help but wonder if you could do a product in wood and metal, but with a transparent top (and maybe bottom too) so that the innards would be on display? Edit: Also, I can't wait to listen to this iteration of the Black Diamond. I really liked the sound of the first prototype.
  15. Happy Birthday, Adrian :prettyprincess: Hope it's great for you!
  16. Happy Birthday, Dom! :prettyprincess:
  17. Happy Birthday Mike. :prettyprincess: I hope that you and Debbie have a great day!
  18. Not a problem, that kind of distortion is undetectable if one is listening with Beats.
  19. Happy Birthday Grahame. :prettyprincess: May your slice of cake hold the coin. Have a great one!
  20. Happy Birthday Frank! :prettyprincess: Have a great one.
  21. Happy Birthday, John. :prettyprincess: Have a great one!
  22. It looks like it's wood "smoked" with ammonia fumes: http://www.djmarks.com/stories/djm/Fuming_Wood_47692.asp http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&ved=0CDQQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FAmmonia_fuming&ei=D7TJUvGtHZHxoATJjYLABw&usg=AFQjCNEm6Gvecy_2dsoKVMe0IROfVTfIUg&sig2=_qFWAlEUImkcrCAETkVaXw
  23. You'd be more crazy not to.
  24. Happy Birthday, Dan! :prettyprincess:
