  1. Oops, I completely misunderstood your design. I thought it was all wood and didn't realize that it had metal legs and frames with wooden shelves fitting inside the metal frames. I'm building an all wood stand as this is a project for a woodworking class. So it looks like I won't be borrowing your design ideas for this stand. This is how I thought Dave's design worked, all wood with shelves let into dados and rabbets (top shelf). I'll talk it over with my instructor but I'm inclined to use this design instead of my original idea. I'd glue it all together rather than bolting it though. After seeing the price of these stands, I now don't feel so bad about how much money I have invested in the lumber I bought and had milled. If I do a decent job with the stand, I'll have quite the bargain. Also, I need some reasonable level adjusters to use for feet. Does anybody have recommendations? The feet used on this Timbernation stand look interesting. Does anybody know what they are?

  9. Another "nice rack" to you Dave R. I'm taking woodworking classes through adult ed here. My first solo project is a turntable stand made of white oak. I was going to modify this design: to be about 40" high with three 30" x 20" shelves, but I think I prefer your design so I'll probably do something like it instead. Your design would be more stable and I wouldn't have to go through the effort of drilling holes, cutting legs and drilling legs and lining everything up on assembly. Yours also gives more usable space on the shelves. Of course, it adds the complexity of cutting dados but that's easy enough to do with a table saw. Hope you don't mind if I do use your design. If so, please let me know.
  10. Did you forget your pillow and blindfold? Have a safe trip home.
  11. I don't care much one way or the other to go to a CanJam, but I'd love to get together with fellow HC'ers. So I'd be up for a meet either at CanJam or elsewhere in SoCal.
  12. Fall finally arrived here yesterday. We got the first appreciable rain (1.5 inches) in at least 6 months. I needed a sweat top for the first time since last winter. Of course, it will get back up to 80 later this week. I'll have to turn the heat on sometime soon.
  13. This. Enjoy you victory celebrations.

  15. Kenmore contracts many companies to make their products. That's one reason why Kenmore products are so hit and miss and why it's hard to distinguish them when looking at Kenmore products.
  16. Take the boy with you. Just tell him that there will be all kinds of Beats headphones he can try.

  23. This may be the most obvious case of "hold me back" that I've seen here at HC.
