  1. Me too. Of course, it depends on who exactly is doing the touching.
  2. Happy Birthday Nate!
  3. When I was 13, my hobbies were scuba diving, shell collecting and judo. Of course, that was in 1966. I had a double hose U.S. Divers regulator too, just like Mike Nelson.
  4. I suspect that he's a 13 year old with a computer and is very early in the process of how to deal with adult situations. He'll (or she'll but probably not) learn.
  5. These days it seems mostly to be the plastic surgeons with the really nice cars.
  6. Probably true, but IMO paying for health care shouldn't be akin to buying a used car. My best man is the head of the Radiology Department at the University of Arizona. The UA medical center recently changed their policies so that the regular price is the same as their negotiated prices. They realized that if the person didn't have health insurance, they probably couldn't pay for the high prices anyway.

    AKG 340

Hi Al, Have you listened to my K340s? I have no idea if they are the bass- light, middle or heavy. Maybe you could tell me? Regards, -ken
  8. I'll second this. I tried Sextett's for the first time at MOA. They sounded very mediocre either being driven by my Platinum Extreme or Al's SDS-XLR. On the other hand, I love how the Extreme drives my K340s.
  9. Some more tubes for my SP Extreme. Thanks Nate!
  10. You can say pretty much what you like on HF, you just have to be more careful how you say it. The are only a few real taboos. I like it here because the S/N is so much higher and that members that lower it are encouraged to either raise their S/N level or leave.
  11. Like you don't on the other site. To the OP, you really need to state your requirements in a portable amp. I'm assuming that you want a portable amp as you mentioned the Pico. Does it need to had a USB Dac? What kind of music do you mostly listen to? What other amps have you heard and liked or disliked? What's your budget? What are your requirement wrt batteries? What about size? My main portable amp is Rockhopper Pimeta. It's powered by a replaceable 9V battery that I can buy anywhere. It's larger than my iPod (the usual source) but works for me. The build quality and sound quality is quite nice. Overall a good amp purchase for ~ $80 USD. Depending on your requirements, something similar to this may work well for you too.
  12. Could you get rid of the sliders on the frames altogether? It's really annoying to have a stack of pictures, with some or all of them being wider than the frame. To see all of a picture, one has to scroll down to the slider, slide the frame and then scroll back up to the desired picture. It's a huge PITA. Just let the browser do the sliding. That way no scrolling is necessary.
  13. I'm close. I finally got around to buying two plane tickets to CanJam. They only cost $20, plus 100K miles. We were originally planning on coming in on Friday, but would get there at 8:01 pm. That's kind of late. So I decided to get there a day early so that we can be social on Friday. Now I just have to change our hotel reservation to match. Hey JP, maybe you could pick us up at FLL and take us to the Thursday night "Beer Dinner"? Actually, I suspect that coming in at 8:01 pm means that we'll be too late to make it.
  14. This was by far the most likely outcome. So when are you sending them?
  15. I'll be happy to drink while I listen so you don't miss everything.
  16. If you'll send that pair to me, I'll break it in and listen to it over the next year. Then we can do a comparison and see if it actually has a problem or just needed some break in.
  17. I get it every time I hear a national level politician speak.
  18. Actually, I think making a side deal with J is more likely to get the upgrades done at CanJam.
  19. The transitions will smooth out with more burn-in. The difference is night and day.
  20. I finally unpacked the old Lafayette tuner that I bought from Miguel Arroyo many months ago. Besides needing a switch box, I need an indoor FM antenna. Can anybody recommend one? I'd like to spend no more than $50. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
  21. Many. Of course, it depends on your budget and what you like. If you would like, we can talk about it more off line.
  22. Hi Hiroshi. Looks yummy. Where's it from?
  23. Celts vs. Sun, ESPNH
  24. Happy Birthday Grawk!
  25. Now we understand why Boomana wanted to get Grawk as a bodyguard!
