  1. Certainly nobody has done more to raise their draft stock that he has. Before the tournament, he may have gone undrafted. Now he may have raised himself into the middle of the first round.
  2. Ah, the old Nazi himself. I really like his CD of Beethoven's 9th.
  3. Very cool. I know who I'll be asking to make my next headphone stand. Of course, it will take me a while to recover from the last purchase. Can't wait to see pictures.
  4. Thanks. They sound very nice out of the Extreme. I knew that they would because in the MOA picture, I was listening to them out of my Extreme. See, I'm smarter than I look. Thanks to you Vicki. I won't have to listen to it as I still have my K340 and Darth Beyers, but I will spend a lot of time with it! Congrats on you headphone stand. I can't wait to see pictures of it. Better find that camera.
  5. Yes, these are HP-2, which is one model of the HP 1000 series. There are also HP-1, which have a switch on each ear piece so that you can change the phase, and HP-3, which I've never seen and know little about. Thanks to everybody for your comments about them. I really shouldn't have bought them but couldn't stop thinking about them ever since I listened to them at MOA. The picture of them on my head is was taken at MOA. It's funny that when I finally decided to buy a pair, I'd be able to buy a pair that I had actually tried.
  6. That's why I needed this:
  7. I won't pretend to know enough about jazz to know which albums are essential, but back in the late seventies when I was putting together my first nice audio system the following three direct to disk albums really got me into jazz. L.A. Four, "Going Home" (Nautilus). Absolutely wonderful! The flute solo in Django (I think) is what sold me on my first real speakers, DCM Time Window. Bill Berry Band, "For Duke" (M&K RealTime Records). This is a Duke Ellington tribute record by members of his band. Earl "Fatha" Hines, "Fatha" (M&K RealTime Records). Fatha plays other composer's music. The last two are still available on one gold CD. Both are well recorded and I highly recommend it.
  8. Just came in the mail:
  9. In the spirit of the HF thread, I think that you should sue your buddy for giving you this choice and causing you extreme mental anguish. Do you know any good lawyers?
  10. Ah, I understand now. That really makes sense. Thanks.
  11. That's the same reasoning I used with my wife. It works better for you than it did for me.
  12. You know about the side effect of taking Vicodin, don't you? I don't mean that it can become habit forming, I mean the other bad side effect. A couple of years ago I broke 6 ribs in a motorcycle oops. Nobody warned me and after 6 days, it was quite painful. So be sure to be ingesting (one way or another) a lot of fiber as long as you are taking them.
  13. Uh-oh. I think that we may be in for a long night of Augsburger posts!
  14. When did your luck change for the bad? Was it just after the infamous Cincinnati meet? Maybe you've had an Iraqi curse put on you.
  15.
  16. Sorry for the spam here, but if you go the CKIII route, fellow HC'er gtp has this one for sale. I've seen and listened to his work and it is of high quality. I haven't seen or heard this particular amp but I'd bet money that it's up to his usual standards.
  17. As quickly as possible!
  18. Elusive Disc also insists on an account first. Fortunately, MusicDirect allows "one time purchases" and I took advantage to that.
  19. Yeah, hold me back.
  20. I'd love to get it, but Acoustic Sounds insists that I create an account first. Sorry, but no.
  21. Another possibility for you is the Panasonic RP-HTX7. These are very inexpensive (I got a pair for $39 a year ago) and really do nothing wrong. The bass is a bit woolly, but it's a nice closed headphone for the price. I found them to be comfortable enough.
  22. I advise you to never listen to neilvg's electrostatic or Voltron's dynamic setups if you want to keep this feeling intact. I have a pretty nice setup and I'd trade it for either in a heartbeat!
  23. With the RS-1, I immediately noticed the shrill, piercing, hight pitched voice and that was enough. For me, the RS-1 is unlistenable. The HP-1000 is another animal altogether. I first tried an HP1 connected to Frank Cooter's amp. I've been in love ever since.
  24. Yes, too harsh. Never is a slight exaggeration.
  25. I've always wanted a SUCKITALO cable. Where do I sign up?
