Sidi makes great boots. If you fall, your feet and ankles will thank you for protecting them. Besides, those boots have another safety feature. All drivers will be sure to see you. I just hope that your boots don't blind them.

I can't answer that. Mine came with a tube mod to the analog session and I've never heard an eXemplar CD player without tubes. I've only listened to two, so I don't have a large base of experience among different eXemplar mod levels. I do know that I really like how mine sounds compared to other $2K and above source that I've heard. I think that the eXemplar magic has to do with the new regulated power supplies and and the constant source circuits for the tubes. So I guess the tube mod is important.

I think that used is the way to go. I have $1900 in my eXemplar 2900. If I had bought it new and then had eXemplar modify it, it would have been about $5500. I'd be shocked if he wouldn't. When my 2900 needed repair, he immediately wanted my to ship it to him. There was no hesitation whatsoever. The fix eventually was going to be $50, but he waived that because I had them do more mods.

If you'll pay shipping, I'll send it along to you then.

Replacement shower head. One of the plastic spray control buttons popped out and all we get is a stream of water from the large hole.

Doesn't Ray use Meridian's in all his rigs? That's why I posted it. I wasn't being serious, either to Meridian or RSA for that matter. Meridian's biggest problem seems to be cutting edge prices on their less than cutting edge products.

I bought my eXemplar 2900 used. When it arrived, there was a problem with the drive/display circuit. I sent the box to eXemplar for repair. While there, I added two mods that brought it up to the "fully modded" state. As I remember, I was without it for about 3 weeks. Communication was good during the time and, because I bought addition mods, the repair was free. No matter which way you choose to go, you'll get a much larger bang for the buck by buying used. Edit: I just remembered that eXemplar has a dealer network. They may have something ready to ship. Call John Tucker@eXemplar to find the dealers selling his products and then contact them.

At least two were deleted. Nenso, look at Nate's post where he said that it will be harder for the guy to troll because he (Nate) was deleting his posts. It's the next one under the post of mine that you quoted.

Nope. This was in response to another user. His messages have since been deleted. Relax a bit.

No chance of a pipe but good chance of scotch. Though at MOA, a glass of beer was more likely. OK, some small chance of a pipe.

I have an eXemplar modified Denon 2900. I think that it's a great deck for Redbook CDs and ok for SACD and DVD-A. Mine is only single-ended, not balanced. eXemplar does a balance mod and they can either add it to an existing single-ended eXemplar or as part of a general mod. I suggest checking eXemplar out if you can.

MOA was a great meet, the best I've ever attended. The pictures were great too, except for this one of an old man with a pot belly listening to music in a corner:

Dan, your flexy looks great. Can you please tell me where you sourced the black rods and hardware? Also, did you use neoprene (or other rubber) washers as suggested at TNT?

Just make the 4 pin to 1/4 and buy a Sennheiser 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. It's a tiny cable and you are less likely to lose it than a screw on adapter. Or make your own. For the price it's really easier to just buy the Sennheiser.
