  1. You can't lose here. Worst case is that it doesn't float your boat. If so, you can always sell it, probably for more than you paid. Risk free, except if you like it that is!
  2. I thought of that and looked for "Will" in the attendee list. He wasn't there so I thought that she was just being emphatic! Maybe she'll invite a "Will" now.
  3. Two wills! She must really mean it.
  4. I'll pass this on to my wife. If this is such a good deal, then I'm sure that you bought several cases at your club price? :o
  5. Even worse, we joined Foley's wine club yesterday. Their wine is fairly good now and can't wait to see what Kris does with it in the next couple of years. One good thing about the club membership is that it also allows us to taste for free at other Foley-owned wineries (Lincourt, Firestone and another that I can't remember). Longoria won't be unhappy. I bought 6 bottles of the 2005 Fe Ciega two weeks ago. The 2006 is excellent too. Another thing. Stacy and I found a wine bar/store in Solvang where one can buy 2005 Wedell Hillside Reserve. The best thing is that the price is only $135/btl.
  6. I have the same problem as JP. I'd buy the beer for the meet, but then you'd never know how much would actually arrive come meet time. Every time I see this name, an entirely different picture pops into my mind. Bad Ken!
  7. You notice I didn't post the name of the store. At these prices, JP might drive down and buy it all!
  8. A local wine store that opened a couple of months ago is exit the beer part of their business. Here is a snippet from a recent email: I don't know Belgian beers at all. Please recommend some things I should look out for. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
  9. That's my view on the K1000. It's a "speaker" for people that live in apartments, condos or otherwise can't play a regular speaker system. The K1000 gives a lot of the speaker experience without disturbing neighbors, family members, etc.
  10. And crude. Brrrrrppp.
  11. I've never heard of him before. But then, I'm an old fart.
  12. Hell, you never know what they are putting in cables these days.

    She's a double agent.
  14. Get both setups. Listen to them and report back. Then sell the lesser setup.

    Speaker Cable

I've used spade-terminated 4TC speaker cables for years between my Anthem Int-1 and Joseph Audio RM7si/sig speakers. I've never felt the need to upgrade (i.e. spend more money).
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. Justin and his wife, Morgan Fairchild, promise it by December. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Love your signature. How about another line below it: "If Descartes was correct, Peter Pinna doesn't exist!"

Thanks, I missed it totally. In fact, I was tempted to reply that we had developed our own Rick. Glad we haven't.
  20. Hey Ric, first things first. Here is the thread on HF. It was referred to here in the "Favorite Posts ..." thread. He managed to get both of his accounts banned on HF. While that's really no trick, I believe it's warranted in this case. Be warned, this thread is really long. The reason I ignored your smiley is that you spent the entire post defending him. To me, the last part was an attempt to trivialize something that I don't find trivial. He used multiple accounts when there was really no reason to do so. I wonder what he'll do when he needs money fast.

Do whatever you think is right. I was just responding to other sports related posts. This is kind of a catch-all topic, so it probably belongs here as much as many of the posts. However, if it would make you feel better or powerful to move it, have at it. It doesn't matter to me.
  22. Smiley aside, what does the time he has equipment have to do with morality. I don't really care if he made a profit or not. I don't care if he is a flipper trying to make a profit or not. What is morally wrong is that he used multiple accounts, sometimes to bid against others for things he was selling in an attempt to raise the price. He would also use multiple accounts to talk up the product he was selling. This kind of action is morally inexcusable. Lastly, I don't really care if anybody still buys from him. Now that he has been outed, it's anybody's choice. As I said in my original post, he hasn't totally cheated anybody yet, so you'll probably get what you buy. I hope that it remains true when the interest starts on his credit card and he gets more desperate to pay it off.
  23. You mean financial counseling, right? So you can afford more wine. Maybe you should schedule a meeting with yourself?

You do this very well. I hear that Jude is looking for moderators so he can open the new forums. Maybe you should apply.
  25. Using multiple accounts seems to be his modus operandi. On the positive side for him, he hasn't totally scammed anybody that I know of. On the negative side, he has used his multiple accounts to try to get more money when selling. He definitely has a different view of right and wrong than I have.
