  1. I think conspire is the right word. Discussing our attacks and coordinating them is conspiring. I posted here that I thought the thread was way over the line and that I reported it. That was it. I think that it had a lot more to do with the fact that it was RSA and the problems about that between Jude and HC. I don't think anybody will complain. Let's see, you'll actually have the prototype. You'll talk about the prototype and how it sounds, looks, etc. What you won't do is make what amounts to a product announcement with specs, price, availability, etc. John did the latter. Of course, maybe you should. Justin could use the free advertising too.
  2. Several of us here got the same email from Jude after he decided that we "conspired" here to attack RSA. We didn't conspire and were attacking jamato8. This was in regards to his thread that basically announced the SR-71A. I figured if Jude didn't care if he wasn't getting revenue from RSA, then I didn't care. The story might be different if I was an MOT and had to pay for such a thread, but I'm not. Since then, I haven't bothered to report a problem on HF. I don't see any upside to it, either for me or for HF.
  3. Now it's a fail to connect problem, so it looks like they've taken it down and are working on the problem.
  4. These don't quite count as concerts, but my wife and I were in Las Vegas last week and saw two shows. The first was Jersey Boys. This is the Broadway hit musical about The Four Seasons. It had an excellent story and the music and singing were super. The second was Cirque de Soleil Love. It was the usual fine CDS performance art and (at least for me) the music was sensational too. Of course, I'm a big Beatle fan. All in all these were both great shows but I thought Jersey Boys was a little better.
  5. Al, you're never going to be successful with all this negativity.
  6. Ah, I love the smell of rope in the morning.
  7. It used to feel OK to me, if slightly hard. It's possible that my Birks are too old and have compressed. Of course, it just may be that my joints are too old and also have compressed. Unfortunately, there is no longer a store in SB that stocks Birks so it will be hard for me to test a different pair.
  8. Sorry, to me it just was a shortening of fidelity and I never tied it to another forum. Now I understand. Thanks for fixing it.
  9. I was just about to ask someone to change it to "sandal-fi" when I read your message. Thanks, but I still see "sandal-case". Could you check it again please? I'll look into these. I prefer not to have a heel strap, but they probably make a model without one. Actually, the basic birks have almost no cushioning at all, just the cork and it really doesn't give much. They now have a cushioned version and, I just saw, a version for high arches. I hope to check both of these out.
  10. Here's something new for HC. I love to wear sandals. For the last 10 years or so, I've been very happy with Birkenstocks. Recently though, I've started suffering from shin splints even though I've been wearing Birkenstock sandals. This is a basic version with no cushioning and I think that the lack of cushioning is the problem. So can anybody recommend nice, supportive (I have a high arch) sandals? There are enough geeks (like me) here so I'm hoping to get some excellent responses.
  11. It's more than just how it sounds. For instance, I could buy one of these and put it in a pretty package and sell it for $1000. Would you buy it, even if it sounded great? Sound quality is definitely the most important thing, but one needs to know if one can get the same or better SQ for a lot less. Knowing the internals of an amp helps find other options. $500 for this amp is the worst amp deal I've every seen. Rudistor would have to make an expensive custom chassis to make it small. Then they would have to charge $700 to get the same profit margin.
  12. You can follow up with Barry Manilow.
  13. He must have been impressed. Most hockey fans can't count.
  14. Yes, the fan blows the bass towards the vacuum, which sucks it in.
  15. Happy Birthday Jim. Hope it's a good one!
  16. The problem with this approach is that both people have to be happy with the volume unless you put an attenuator on one of the headphones. The volume difference will be exacerbated if you are using headphones of much different sensitivities.
  17. Sure, why not get the answer from the horse's mouth? I would ask if he would do it rather than if he discontinued doing it though.
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. They can't. I just assume that the OP meant static issues. Certainly all the responses were addressing static issues.

Are you sure it just isn't the start of Stockholm Syndrome?
  21. I'm just curious. I'm a real fan of Bottlehead products and have never heard the Seduction. As far as Jack being willing, I'm hoping he's coming next spring (or whenever) to the International meet and that he'll bring the Seduction with him. If you are not done with his mods by then, we're likely to start calling you "Mikhail".
  22. It is a sickness.
  23. I'm definitely a job. As I said, I really don't need a phono preamp at the moment. Even so, I was tempted to get in on the Pearl group buy. I'm curious, about how much are the parts and casing costs? I might have found a Seduction for us to compare against. Posty has one. Jack, are you coming to CanJam LA? If so, can we convince you to bring it? Please? My preference is a tube preamp with a tube amp. I also like to have tubes in my sources. My speaker setup is based around an Anthem Int-1 integrated amp (with 15 tubes) and its source is an Ah! Tjoeb 99 (2 tubes). My headphone setup is an eXemplar Denon 2900 (2 tubes) into an SP Platinum Extreme.
