  1. Thanks Antonio. I mistyped the model. It is S4101.
  2. My wife bought a Formosa model S4104 guitar. She bought it because it's signed by Stevie Nicks. Just for kicks, I decided to see what Formosa guitars were about. Google returns no useful information. Does anybody know anything about Formosa guitars?
  3. Happy Birthday Steve! :jbl:
  4. I think that as long as you didn't install the controller in your bladder or eat it, you're probably OK.
  5. I've been waiting since late October for this Samsung TV to get cheap. I'm surprised as its price seems to fluctuate up and down. This weekend it's on sale at my favorite online store. It's almost the cheapest I've seen it and I love OneCall.com. So I finally pulled the trigger. Of course, now that I finally went ahead, the price will probably drop like a rock next week.
  6. Happy Birthday!
  7. This may possibly be the best and most apt oxymoron I've heard in my life. Next to this, "military intelligence" makes bundles of sense.
  8. Shitload of painkillers (hydrocodone-apap 5-325)!
  9. Happy Birthday Stephen
  10. Here's the scoop. I went down off a dirt road at about 45 mph. I could tell right away that I had broken ribs. I'm getting way to much experience in this. The nearest hospital to where I crashed was 45 miles away in Pahrump, NV. I didn't want to go there. The next morning, someone with a truck drove 5 hours from Desert Hot Springs (near Palm Springs) to pick me up. On the way, one of the fellows in our group seized his engine so he picked him up first. Then we drove the 5 hours back to Desert Hot Springs. I was feeling pretty good (people were throwing percecet at me) so I attended Big Frank's birthday bash. That was the main point of the trip. I had a good time at the part and did not drink any alcohol. The next morning someone drove a pickup from Santa Barbara to Desert Hot Spring. We load the seized bike on it and all the unused equipment. I loaned my bike to the fellow whose bike had siezed. We left DHS about 12:30 and got to SB around 5. This included a 30 minute lunch stop. Once in SB, Stacy and Tom (the fellow who drove the truck) moved my stuff from the truck directly to the garage. The it was directly off to Cottage Hospital for me. After some xrays and CT scans, they decided that I had broke ribs 1-9 on the right side and ribs 1-2 on the left. They also decided that I have a hemothorax and that a chest team would be necessary. It was very difficult to put in across the broken ribs and the surgeon used the f-word at least 3 times. Even being greatly anesthesized, it hurt like hell. Lastly I was taken up and had an epidural catheter put in so that my ribs could be directly soaked with wonderful opiates. They pulled the chest tube yesterday and removed the epidural catheter today. Finally, they let me go. I'm sitting (mostly comfortably) at home. Al long as I keep up with the painkillers (Norco in this case) I feel fine. I'll probably post less but will keep you posted as I progress. Thanks one last time for the help. This is a great forum.
  11. And the lawyers too!
  12. Hi Everybody, Just got home from four days in the hospital. I had a hemothorax too and needed a chest tube. I'll write a more detailed post once the animals get their attention. Thanks again to everybody for the help you gave me. It all helped a lot.
  13. Hi Antonio, ASAP will probably be late this afternoon or, more likely, tomorrow when I get back to Santa Barbara. There's no place close to where I'm currently stuck to get an xray. Besides a possible collapsed lung, what else do I have to worry about? I don't think my lung collapsed, but what do I know? -ken
  14. My email is working and help is on the way. Big thanks to everybody.
  15. My gmail account is acting a little weird and I haven't received any email. Could somebody please send me a test message so that I can verify that I'm receiving email? Thx.
  16. Thanks Earl. We were able to use a pay phone and talk to him. There is a number here at the resort but I don't think anybody will answer it until 10am. The number is on the web site. I didn't sleep much. Between my brain spinning, the pain and a loudly snoring roommate, it was tough. The hard thing now is to figure out how to get me and the bike back to SB. First stop will be (hopefully) Desert Hot Springs. There, I'll be able to rent a Uhaul to get me and the bike back to SB. I knew the list would come through for me. Thanks everybody.
  17. EDIT: There is a pay phone here. We are going to try to get enough change together to call ourselves. Please hold until you hear from me again. ---- Until yesterday afternoon, I was doing a 5 day dual sport motorcycle ride. Unfortunately I had a big crash on a dirt road. I'm basically OK but almost certainly have broken ribs and am in no shape to continue riding. The crash was at the end of the day and I was able to make it to here, which was where we were planning to stay the night. This is in the middle of nowhere just south of Death Valley. Of course, there is no cell coverage. As you can see from this, I do have access to a computer. I emailed Stacy (my wife) last night telling her of my predicament, but she hasn't responded so is obviously not reading emails. What I need is for someone to call "Big Frank" in Desert Hot Springs, CA. His numbers are: 760-329-7983 760-799-0223 cell His house is our destination today. He has a pickup and could come pick me and my bike up. Could someone please call him (he'll be up by now) and tell him the predicament here with the "John Chase group" and that we need to pick him up. Please give him my email address: mueller<DOT>ken<AT>gmail.com so we can coordinate. Please make it clear that I'll pay for gas. Also please wish him a Happy Birthday. Thanks a lot. I really need this. -ken

  19. I understand. I can populate the boards and probably debug problems (with just a little help. ) I'd need lots of help when it comes to casing it up. However, if some of the casework is done, I might be able to muddle through it. Of course, it really depends on what cost we are talking about. My question may be quite moot (to me).
  20. Are there SMD components in the build or is everything through-hole? I can handle the latter but would rather avoid the former.
  21. This looks like a job for Super Rockhopper. I'm sure that Stephen will get right on it after he finished putting together a part list for a source selector for me.
  22. Did a "ride in" at Bill Mayer Saddles. The stock saddle on the Suzuki DRZ-400S is a torture device. I'll post pics later in the "last thing you bought" thread.
  23. Happy Birthday!
  24. Also make sure that your browser is configured to run java.
  25. I've yet to find headphones that actually let me feel music on my body. Speakers do this. Good speakers do everything good headphones do plus this. To me, that's more presence.
