  1. What "oh frack me"? You can't be too thin and you can't have too many tube testers. What make and model is this? I can't make out the writing on the manual. It looks like you have a minor restoration job in front of you.
  2. Congratulations Doug. I predict a large celebration next weekend.
  3. Or it's a JH Audio cupcake.
  4. No problem. Just work as a S/W or H/W engineer.
  5. A nice new booklet.
  6. Alison Brown Quartet Bela Fleck Tales From the Acoustic Planet Bela Fleck & Chick Corea The Enchantment
  7. I'm heartbroken. Obviously it's meant for Al.
  8. At least you know what to sell first.
  9. Too late. I already called dibs.
  10. M&K RealTime did both the "For Duke" and "Fatha" original direct disk LPs in the 70s. I was perusing their site in the lat 90s and noticed that they had done a gold CD with both of them and bought it. It's quite good. I'll bring it to DanJam and to any other east coast meets I make in the near future. I believe that your "Going Home" CD is from Eastwind. They are the same company that did the direct disk LP.
  11. Do you have any idea how it compares to the M&K RealTime CD release? This CD has both "For Duke" and Fatha Hines "Fatha". For a real treat, try to listen to the M&K RealTime lp release. It and LA4 "Going Home" are the crown jewels of my meager lp collection.

  13. Happy Birthday Tony!
  14. Sorry to hear about the "incident" but am glad to hear that things worked out. If anybody asks me for a wedding cake recommendation, I'll point them your way. Just so you know, it's "ganache" in English (and French).

  17. Let's see who I should believe. On one have I have Vicki's input. She's contributed a lot to both HF and HC and not once have I ever seen her do something even slightly shady. On the other hand we have the fellow who runs "Lootin Audio". This is the same fellow who wrote a scathing review of the HD800 including his most famous words, calling it "slowwwwww". Now there are things to not like about the HD800, but being slow isn't one of them. Then later, probably after seeing how well the HD800 was accepted by his target market, he decided that he really liked the HD800 and it would be perfect if only people bought his high $ cable. This is a really hard decision to decide which one of these people I trust. I'm going to have to think about it for awhile and get back to you when I decide.
  18. Happy Birthday, Jack! :prettyprincess:
  19. I have a question for you. In none of your posts do you say you need a wireless router. Yet the G and N you talk about are short for 802.11G and 802.11N. These are both wireless protocols. So are you going to connect to your router with a wired, or wireless connection? First let's assume wired. A 100 Mbit/sec (100Base-T) connection will make the internet connection the slow point and that is your goal. So you'd need a router that also has at least 1 100Base-T port. You also need an ethernet adapter in your PC that supports 100Base-T. Most modern PCs already have that. Now let's assume that you are going to connect to the router via a wireless connection. Here are the theoretical maximum transfer rates of standard G and N protocols: G: 54 Mbit/sec N: >100 Mbit/sec So to get the maximum out of your PC, you'll have to use 802.11N. No matter which wireless protocol you decide to use, again you will have to be sure that your PC's wireless adapter will support that protocol. For more information about wireless protocols and their performance, check out this link. HTH rather than confuses.
  20. "We are not entertained!"
  21. I remember it coming out just in time for CanJam 2008. Of course, my memory is shot these days.
  22. Once it gets harder, you might want to try a pill gun or pill pockets.
  23. Can't really remember. Probably something from La Superica or El Sitio in SB.
  24. 2 tickets to see "Dave Brubeck 2009" at the Lobero theater in SB on Sept 22.
  25. Translation: If you didn't make any mistakes in building it, it powers up just fine the first time.
