  1. Not yet. I'm pretty much being Sennheiser'ed a la Steve's stand.
  2. Spent 3 hours yesterday in the ER with atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. I finally converted (i.e. returned to normal heat beat/rate) while I was sleeping last night. I get an echo cardiogram next week and a meeting with a cardiologist to see where we go from here. This wasn't surprising as the condition is common and runs in my family. Such is life.
  3. Yes, and I may actually get them someday. Maybe not though.
  4. Well, there goes everybody else's chance to win.
  5. I'm interested but have one question. You're not allowing Colin to participate, right?
  6. Happy Birthday, Andrew. :prettyprincess: I hope you had a great one with lots of wonderful things. But remember, friends don't let friends drink Pinotage. So don't drink it.
  7. Happy Birthday Deepak! :prettyprincess:
  8. You should work for the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. You just came up with their new campaign: "Retire in Halifax. It's a great place to die"
  9. Shoot, at this point in my diy career, most BOM entries are this cryptic.
  10. Did you forget to apply Lemma 22.1?
  11. Very nice. Did you do anything fun in St. Louis while you were there? It's actually a fun town to visit.
  12. I have mine and use it for my speaker setup. It was modded by SACDmods and sounds better than stock. I've had to replace the transport one time so far. It was easy to do working with Dr. Art.
  13. The secret to being successful in life is honesty and sincerity. Once you lean to fake those the rest is easy. Every successful politician knows this.
  14. That's better for the bass, but now won't the treble suffer?
  15. I was wondering something. It's very horizontal. Can the bass get through all that horizontalness?
  16. Yep, it's called audiophilia nervosa. It's a terrible disease in which the sufferer always thinks the sound is better on the other side of the fence, and it's rampant. However without it, there wouldn't be any high end audio as it wouldn't be economically feasible if most listeners didn't regularly turn over their gear.
  17. $14? Now Shelly won't be able to afford another bottle of Old Overholt.

    ChiLiquiFi

Since I won't be coming, I can only participate vicariously by suggesting "liqui". Looking at Binny's, these look interesting (note that I haven't tried any of them): Don Julio Real tequila (in store pickup only) Roger Groult Reserve Ancestrale Calvados looks interesting Coeur de Lion 1963 Vintage Calvados also looks interesting at $100 less Larressingle 1942 Vintage Armagnac Samalens 1952 Bas Armagnac Comte de Lauvia 1929 Vintage Armagnac $999.99 - If you really want to splurge I only looked at half of the Armagnacs. You can check for more if you want but let's move on to Cognac. Camus Pionneau 1969 Cask Strength Cognac - a little over your budget but looks interesting. In house only. If you really want to go wild with Cognac, Hardy has 3 separate bottlings at $7K each. Germain Robin Anno Domini Brandy - an American brandy and probably a bargain compared to Cognac Finally, we get to Scotch. There are so many that I just included all that were in the specified budget, except for the last one. Ardmore 30 Year Old Brora 30 Year Old 2009 Limited Release Bruichladdich Legacy V 33 Year Old Bruichladdich Legacy IV 32 Year Old Bruichladdich Legacy II 37 Year Old Glenfiddich 1973 Vintage Laphroaig 25 Year Old Michel Couvreur 24 Year Old Single Malt Very Sherried Port Ellen 29 Year Old 8th Edition Glenrothes 1975 Vintage Speymalt Macallan 1966 Vintage 35 Year Old Tomintoul Reserve 31 Year Old Gordon & Macphail Mortlach 70 Year Old - If you really, really, really want to splurge.
  19. What's really funny is that he's complaining about this post from 12/2009. So pretty much everything about his post is lose.
