  1. As an Arizona alumni, I'm deliriously happy!
  2. Networking is more important. Make a good impression with them, Bryan, and it will eventually pay off. Hopefully it will pay off right away, but sooner or later it will pay off.
  3. I agree with Tyll about the HD800 being extremely revealing. Best? Who the hell knows what that is? I must like revealing because the HD800 is my go to headphone. Of course, the fact that it's extremely comfortable does play a part in it.
  4. Good news indeed. It's a mess there.
  5. I think that the review is fine in what it said. However, it needs to do it much more succinctly. The editor of a magazine would cut it down somewhat. Reviews on fora (forums) need to be even shorter. Here, attention spans are less and many people read a forum using portable devices and so posts need to be short. To be succinct myself, a good review here should be no larger than 1/3 the size of your review.
  6. Here's more good thoughts and wishes for the MOTDOTU. I hope that she is feeling and doing better.
  7. Wow, two Happy Birthday threads for Al. Is this the one for the cool people?
  8. Happy Birthday Al and Gary. :prettyprincess: I hope that both of you have a wonderful day.
  9. I think that this thread is the right place for this. A long time friend of Stacy (my wife), who then became my friend too passed away yesterday at age 69 from pneumonia. Though Gary never said anything directly about it, from many of his comments Stacy and I both assumed that he was HIV positive. He was Stacy's friend for many years before I ever met him. He was a great friend to her, especially when helping her through her bad spells. He became a good friend to me too. Stacy's heart is broken and I'm really said. We'll really miss Gary. So please join me tonight in toasting a really good human being, Gary Parker of Bakersfield, CA. Godspeed Gary. You'll be missed by many.
  10. 15-20 years older than you are.
  11. Before complaining too much about HF moderation, I'd like to make you aware that 3 moderators here are also moderators at HF. So putting down HF moderation won't win you points here. My advice is to calm down, read the note to which you were pointed, read a lot to get the feel of the place, and only then start posting. Your time here will be more enjoyable and a lot longer if you do this. Good luck.
  12. Happy Belated Birthday, Ryan. :prettyprincess: I hope that you had such a great birthday that the celebration is still going on.
  13. Sorry to hear about your bad news, Driftwood. Mike, really bad news about your second mother. I'll cross my fingers that she responds well to chemo.
  14. Sorry to hear this. Godspeed Zachary. My condolences to you, Nate, and Zachary's family.
  15. Sorry to hear it. Times seem to be getting harder rather than recovering. I hope that things work out well for her.
  16. Somehow, I think knowledge of Tyll and what he means to the headphone community is included in Mr. Szadzik's set of missing clues.
  17. Congratulations and good luck!
  18. Me too. Very nice watch, Mike.
  19. Happy Birthday, Nate. :prettyprincess: To one of the truly good guys I know. Have a great one.
  20. So you married a doctor? Your mother must be proud.
  21. I normally refer to them as "flying rats".
  22. Happy Birthday, Craig! :prettyprincess:
  23. The prey bird looks to be a pigeon to me.
  24. Yes, but after they replace the liver you are not allowed to drink alcohol. It's a pretty big price. I'm doing pretty well. Just about got the house ready to go on the market. Then things will be calm for a while.
