Could you: move the power on LED and the 2K resistors leave the mounting holes in the same places, but extend the board out a bit to allow moving the output connector(s) out a touch, allowing for a couple of them also, is anyone actually using the adjustment pots? with good gain resistor measurement, you can get the output voltages quite tight without them (my board is a previous version without them). This would free up considerable real estate. Just some thoughts. 2x18ga wires into a Phoenix block isn't much fun, and I don't think the Molex SPOX connectors I prefer using would accept more than 1 wire per terminal either, though I haven't tried it yet.

Any ideas as to why no one could get these working? I know with the SS Dynahi around now, why bother. I was thinking about recouping some parts from the pair of boards I have built up.

Could I request that a second set of output terminals be added to the next revision? This would make things easier when feeding more than one board. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TKD 4CP-601 & 4CP-2500 4-gang volume pot and PCB GB
Pars replied to mwl168's topic in Do It Yourself
You can probably bend more than once, but take care. Note that I haven't used one of these pots before, so I can't be certain. I would nonetheless plan out how you wanted to do it carefully first. You would probably need to put the pot as far forward as possible and mimic the position of the Alpha pot, so the nut and nose fit thru the front panel in the same position as an Alpha. Looking at a PCB and the one 601 pot I have, it looks doable. Pay attention to the Alpha pinout regarding the loudness tap row, and maybe coat that row's solder pads with something non-conductive to ensure no short to it. -

The leads on the TKD 601s are quite long... might be able to do some creative lead bending, use of teflon tubing? -
Cute! Good chains too (KMC). Switched to those from SRAM. Did it come with some of the Two Brothers also?

I don't think the TKDs are the right pots for the mini dynalo? I thought that only took the Alpha pot? -

Haven't tested the pot out yet, but wanted to thank both of you for your efforts in running a great GB! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Anyone have a spice model of the dynalo mk2 built? If not I'll (try to) do one myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just fired one board of mine up tonight with the GRLV, almost perfect +/-20Vdc. I had been running 301R bias resistors with the previous +/-18V sigma22, with a bias current of 17-18mA. With the same bias resistors, it was now at 18-19mA, and had I run it longer probably would exceed 20mA which is too much. With 249R, the bias current was only around 10mA (didn't let it run long). With 261R, it was at 11-12mA. I currently built up 277R with a pair of resistors, and the current was around 16mA when last checked. I'm wondering why Michael's seems to bias higher with lower resistor values? The only difference that I know of is I am running FET inputs (sk170/sj74) and not the THAT bipolar. Mine is out in the open, and I don't have an IR thermometer, so I can't check temps. I've run it and used it for several months now at 18V with the 301R in place.

Norton doesn't seem to like his site, so I haven't gone thru the security warning yet And probably won't bother.

I think he hangs out on the pinkfishmedia.net forum, but not sure how much he contributes. His stuff seems to be well-thought of there, and from what I gather is dissed on the Naim forum, which is probably a good thing

424 isn't a std. value. 422 is. Close enough? PN is TNPW0805422RBEEN PN for R54 should be TNPW080510K0BEEN for 10K.

FME, only cunts(tm) have their auctions private on ebay. Usually for shitty reasons such as the POS, to obscure their activity.

That wasn't from Hinsdale to Two Brothers was it?

I thought that most preferred the sound of PCM to DSD? I guess I haven't followed this (obviously) over the last few years, but what is the fuss over high rate DSD?

I thought Kerry had posted a BOM for this? Here is the one I have from Kerry's . kerry mini ssdynalo-v1-4.xlsx

Not at all. They only measure ~26mm in width, at least on my rims. You would need to check clearance on your bike. The make 23, 25, 28 and 32 in these.

What an accomplishment! Happy Birthday!

Try a pair of Conti GP 4 Seasons. Almost as fast as a GP4000 (built on same or similar casing), durability of a Gatorskin with better traction (wet). Available up to 700 x 32 (I run 28s personally).

That does suck Steve! I hope you get good news from the hand Doctor, and best wishes on your recovery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RIP John... I'll bet he didn't think he would live to 95 when he was sitting on top of that Mercury rocket. Damn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RIP Greg. Man he had a great voice! I saw them live 3-4 times in the '70s, including the Works tour with full orchestra. Always great live. 2016 needs to fucking die! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Continuation of R2R DAC Discussion From Stax Thread
Pars replied to Sechtdamon's topic in Home Source Components
Hmm, the PCM56P-K is still available. RS has some in stock, Mouser and Digikey show them as obsolete but seem to have some SMD packages. Interesting. So, you got on Jocko's shit list, ehh? From what they were saying on diyhifi, the PCM65 is a PCM63 with maybe extra power and ground pins? Other pins seem identical to PCM63.
