  1. Happy Birthday Tyler!
  2. Where are you seeing the reversed plugs at? Or is this because of the 0.2ohm impedance (without the box)?
  3. Happy Birthday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. So no drill bit recommendations from Shars (catalog link in previous post)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I (or actually, my wife) picked one of these up for me on Friday. I also got a set of drill bits from them (https://www.shars.com/media/flip/2018master/mobile/index.html#p=2) the 404-2201, which I am thinking I should have gotten some better ones, maybe one of the cobalt ones, or at least the HSS 6542. Any recommendations from what you see there? I probably also don't need anything larger than 3/8", so dropping down to a 22 piece set shouldn't be an issue. I haven't used either yet.
  6. Happy Birthday Doug!
  7. Well, I feel the ban stick coming. Posted on HF regarding the FCC Part 15 not being applicable. Also called jamato8 out as a known shill from years ago...
  8. I presume this is kosher; not a personal email. Not even sure why I got this... I bought a pair of Massdrop HE4XXs... oh wait, I think I did buy a pair of IEMs direct (and returned them)...
  9. Looks nice! Enjoy!
  10. Interesting in Fang’s letter that he touts FCC testing as one reason his shit couldn’t possibly be dangerous. IIRC, FCC testing is for Part 15, which only covers RF emissions (and isn’t applicable to this?). Total BS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I had an email this morning from Hifiman on HIFIMAN Jade II Safety Announcement. I’ll try to post it from my computer tonight. Probably the same shit he put on HF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hey! That’s all I listen to! Goes to find 2 sticks to rub together to start dinner... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ah yes, some of yours... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Sweet! Chassis are? ebay? Very nice looking! EDIT: I spot ang728's GRLV boards as well
  15. I believe the code is still in the diy forum thread? I attached what I have. I still have some of these and keep thinking about building one... KG attenuator balanced code.zip
  16. gepardcv's solution is the easiest and cheapest, but if you really want RCA connectors also, you could wire a DPDT switch in (or 4PDT if you also want to disconnect the signal) in to short the -signal to ground when using the RCAs. The amp board itself will handle the rest.
  17. I think you should be happy Adrian (hope I got that right). The Teks have a ring on the BNC which is used to sense probe attenuation and automatically adjust for it (x1, x10, etc.). Most other probes don't do this, so you'll have to adjust the voltage range in your head. I took the 2465A apart and didn't see anything wrong, other than a wire loom thing that was floating around... couldn't see where it was supposed to go so just took it out of there. I'm still a bit underwhelmed by it compared to my 465B. I still have a few days left to return it, but it would wind up costing about $100 in shipping both ways and it seems to be fine. I also didn't see any obvious recapping, etc.
  18. Happy Birthday Al!
  19. You could go ahead and build the SS Dynalo and rewire your Grados for balanced (that part should be easy as you should already have 4 wires). Make up some balanced to unbalanced adapters to take the 4 pin XLR you would use back to either (or both) a 3.5mm and 1/4” TRS plug. This place is all about overkill after all. 20. The SS Dynalo does support SE input, but without wiring your headphones for balanced output, you would be wasting 1/2 of the amplifier sections by using a SE output. There was someone on eBay who sold a reasonably priced Dynalo (Kevin even bought one, or at least commented on it, but I don’t remember who the seller was and don’t see it now. 21. Sorry to hear Bryan. RIP Colleen.
  22. Kinda necro for you Al... was this a comment on the best smoker thermometers from 2017?
  23. I've always bought mine directly from Linear...
  24. Thanks Craig! At this point, even though given the cleanliness of the scope, I'm leaning towards returning it as something doesn't feel right. I really wish I would have jumped on the other one, but it was gone. One other thing I didn't mention, but which bothered me, was the fact that when I was taking the scope to my shop in the basement, and carrying it by the handle, it seemed like the guts were moving around inside the case, almost as if a rear bracket wasn't secured, etc. I picked my 465b up and carried it in the same way, and it was solid. I asked a question about this, and the seller finally replied, 3 days later: Remove the rear cover 6 screws and fix what is loose. Nothing should be moving around. Here is the description on the one I should have bought: Offered here is a Tektronix model 2465A 350MHz 4 channel analog scope. This instrument has no options. With so much hype surrounding the Tek 24xx scopes, I will be succinct: I buy, sell and repair electronic test equipment for a living, and have for decades. I have worked on hundreds of scopes, and have all the calibration equipment service this model for some of the largest repair facilities in the country. This scope has had the power supply serviced with all small electrolytic capacitors replaced with high quality Nichicon 105c parts. A complete adjustment was performed using Tek factory equipment. This instrument didn't need any other repairs. This scope looks great and works perfectly, guaranteed. And the one I bought: For sale is a FINE working Tektronix 2465A 350Mhz Oscilloscope. Real nice condition and works great. Comes with power cord and cd with operating and service manuals. Cleaned, repaired and tested for proper operation. No start up errors. No physical damage to case or knobs. This item will be well packaged.
  25. Thanks Craig, I was already a member of the Tek scopes Yahoo group. I signed up for its replacement (I gather) on groupsio this weekend. It wouldn’t surprise me if the seller is a member there as well. I just wanted to run this by you guys first to see what those of you with a lot of scope experience thought.
