Anyone know anything about these? How would these compare to Amb's regs, or even the micro GRLV? Someone asked me about them. I'm normally very leery of the shit that Partsconnexion sells (Bybee? Burson? etc.). https://www.partsconnexion.com/BELLSPX17-85570.html https://www.partsconnexion.com/BELLSPX79-85599.html

Thanks guys! Michael: So for a complete supply (universal), I would need to use both the 1st and 3rd boards, plus a GRLV if desired instead of the 7815/7915 onboard? This would give me B+ (+400V), B- (-400V), Bias (+580V) and the +/-15V? For AC heaters, do you just take the AC volts right off the transformer windings? Or do most people offset this by a certain voltage (can't remember what that is called, but they have it riding on a +/- DC voltage IIRC). And does anyone have an actual full schematic for these? goldenreferencehvsic-2.pdf

As I may have mentioned, I am going to be building a Carbon for another user, and he would like to do a universal PSU that could work for the Carbon, a GG, and I don't know what else. These are the GRHV boards he sent me and I'm trying to make sense of them and what I would need for the UPSU. I will also be using a GRLV for the LV. Also, for heaters, I presume the F+/F- are for that? 12V heaters I presume? Thanks for any enlightenment! PS: with the complexity and all the varieties of these (Fat? Skinny? Dual?), there really should be a separate thread for the GRHV and all of its variants. I recall reading this thread (and wherever else they are discussed) and thinking to myself "God, I'm glad I'm not wading into that cluster...". Famous last words...

Agreed on the heat (full size vs. mini). I really don't view the MPSWs as being a problem though. Rough install... if I do this, I will attempt to get everything aligned all nice and purdy... I don't know for sure, but in my current estimation, the minis I've built sound better than the full size My full size is running at 17-18mA bias. Perhaps I've gone too far?

Those guys are kinda interesting... may have to listen to more. And yes, I found the lyrics quite appropriate these days.

You're a beast Nate... not sure I could avg. 15mph for that right now. I'm not worthy!

Thinking about doing something possibly daft, and just wanted to float it out there. I am going to build myself a mini, and since I have plenty of MPSW06/56, was thinking about using these instead of the PZTAs for the outputs, mainly to look at the thermal characteristics compared to the hot running PZTAs. I know the pin-out is different, but I did a feasibility check with one with a touch of teflon tubing and found it is quite doable. Pain in the ass, but doable. Head-case? Anti-Head-case? So daft you don't know what to say?

There is one layer labeled Inner 1 in the gerber files. attenuatorsmtv42flipground7 - CADCAM READ-ME.doc

Re: Mini Dynalo I thought I had posted this here, but apparently I didn't (had some PMs going at the time). When I was getting ready to ship the last mini out that I built, I noticed an odd problem in that occasionally DC offset on the SE would jump to ~500mV at startup. To make a long story short, I determined via scope that the Meanwell bricks don't always start up at the same time. When the + comes up first, the servo opamps freak out briefly, causing the offset. Without the 0R jumpers in you'll never see this. And it only affects SE output; the balanced output offset is always fine. A month or so ago, while perusing diyaudio, I ran across a comparator circuit used for power management in, of all things, the O2 amp. This circuit, placed before or after the regs, with proper parts selection for voltages, would cure this "problem". I realize virtually no one would build one of these for SE output use, but one thing to be aware of. If you are using SE phones with these, wait about 30 secs. before plugging them in. I did PM this info, and this circuit to Kerry, but he has a lot of fires burning and redoing the mini probably isn't even on his radar

Apparently HBO had said they would support more seasons but it was the show runners and writers who wanted it over. It should have been stretched at least another season to give things more breathing room in my opinion. Dany morphing into her brother that fast didn’t seem quite right... Now I’ll have to go back and watch the post credits thing as I didn’t leave it on long enough. I was thinking when Jon and the wildings we’re leaving Castle Black that there’s gonna be a white walker appearance (as in the first episode)... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks all! Not a bad day at all, though I did work all day downtown. Came home and both sons were there (with the younger son's girlfriend). Had a nice dinner and too many 3 Floyds Space Stations. Overall a good day! I took today off hoping to go for a semi long ride with my younger son, but the weather isn't cooperating. I guess I'll just take it easy!

When I did the adapters (and built my SS Dynalo), I had looked into this and this is what I used: C -> D B -> G E -> S

I would just use some IRC/TT RC55 0.1% resistors such as 756-RC55Y-750RBI (Mouser) and be done with it. The Texas Components resistors will run on the order of $15/ea... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RIP Doris and Peggy as well. Doris lived a good long life, though it seems like things in her personal life and experience(s) with men weren't so hot. And Mod Squad... hehe, right on that that was the hippest show on TV back then. Solid!

Any of you ever across this stuff? Discrete opamps and 78xx/79xx Vregs? https://sparkoslabs.com/ Wonder if the regs are any good and how they compare to Amb's o78/o79?
