As far as I know, the US military does not use RoHS stuff but leaded solders. Kevin or someone more knowledgeable might know differently. I wonder how this effects RSA clams of mil-spec, yet selling into EU countries?

I dunno, that seemed more like an architecture comment than a list of parts. If you want to be an undiscerning twat, then feel free to continue. To me, linear input stage, linear voltage gain stage, and linear output stage = neutral. I.E, wire with gain. The only possible problems could be the ability of the output stage to drive the load, or the level of feedback employed. Granted, parts of this thread may seem like a witch hunt to you, and that could be a valid comment. Your comment above though indicates just what I said. Perhaps the sound of KG's designs are not your cup of tea, but accusing them of not being neutral indicates a serious lack of understanding and/or comprehension IMHO. Lots of people like and or expect colored sound... just admit it and move on.

From my perspective, having built both a Dynalo and a Dynahi, I don't know how you could get much more neutral than one of these. Differential FET input stage (using the default K389/J109s that everyone uses such as Pass, John Curl, etc.), and VAS and output stages uses very linear BJTs, with DC coupling (no signal caps to voice the sound), I just don't see anything being much more linear (and therefore neutral) than that. If you like the Cavalli amp better, then great.

Sorry about the runway experience Jeff. Mike, I had Bell's Palsy a few years ago and as far as I know, have recovered completely. Noticed it when I was drooling on myself when my wife and I were out for dinner; cool move Sure glad yours wasn't a stroke!

Sorry for your loss pigmode. I was very very thankful that I spent some time with him in the nursing home after Thanksgiving before I returned to Chicago. And once again, thanks for everyone's kindness... it means a lot to me.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. They were comforting and helpful. Unfortunately, my father passed away last night, surrounded by my mother and siblings. He was 83. Apparently there was a round of flu through his wing of the nursing home. He had vomited and aspirated into his lungs. They initially thought they had caught it quick enough, but the antibiotics were not effective. By the time I had arrived on Wed., they had taken him off of the antibiotics and were only administering morphine and fluids and trying to keep him comfortable. I know some of you have been through this... it sucks. The last two days are probably the hardest I have had to deal with.

Yay Shelly! Found out yesterday that my dad was admitted into the hospital Monday with pneumonia. Not looking good, so guess it's time to head out there...
