  1. Are you still using the latching switches from that computer case place Birgir? If not, what?
  2. Happy Birthday John!
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. Here's the letter I sent to Calphalon with my last replacement pan in 2010. Check the address on their site to confirm it is still valid. I'm not sure which one they replaced it with, but I like it better than the original pan Calphalon Consumer Relations 315 Matzinger Rd. Building C Toledo, OH 43612 Hello, I am returning a Calphalon nonstick 10” frypan for replacement. We got this as part of a set, and the nonstick coating is failing. We have always cared for this according to the instructions, and only handwash it and we use Calphalon nylon utensils with these for cooking. Since these were the premium Calphalon nonstick products at the time, we would request that it be replaced with Calphalon One or Unison. Best regards, Chris Young
  5. Sorry to hear Dusty. Best wishes to both you and the cat.
  6. We've had 3 pans replaced, and never had a problem with them (Calphalon). They just send us a new one of similar lineage from their current models as what we sent in. We just tell them the non-stick is failing and that we've always followed instructions (hand wash, no steel or metal implements). Just starting to think about sending another one in in the next year
  7. I'm not anywhere near the chef that Reks is, but we have had Calphalon for quite awhile and have been satisfied with it. When the non-stick starts screwing up, back to Calphalon for replacement (lifetime). We have a 14" everyday pan with lid that gets heavy use in our home. Note that these are not dishwasher safe, and you have to use nylon or other non-steel implements with them. The newer ones may be different though.
  8. Good for you Vicki! Glad that the 23 went well, and that you are on your way to recovery and meeting your goals.
  9. Not cheap, but hey, its Blose http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KY2OU8/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B005OB1TU0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1NBAT1DMS5E0MA7ARW3T

  14. ^ Hehe! Great post, and a reminder to keep it in focus.
  15. Good thread idea! 1) 160-165 lbs. Currently around 190 2) 2000+ miles. Same thing as Nate in terms of available decent conditions, though I did do some riding in Nov. and a slight amount in Dec. Hopefully commuting 2-3 times a week will aid in this (18 mi round trip). 3) Do the Dairyland Dare in Wisconsin in August, metric century, around 4000' climbing Will need lower gearing than my current 43/24 low for this one. Maybe try the 150k distance? 4) Increase speed to 18+ mph for an hour. Not sure how doable this one is as I ride by myself and there are quite a few stop lights/signs. 5) Quit smoking in January (again ) I currently smoke about 1/2 pack a day.
  16. Understood. What were they asking for it? I figured $1K would be the absolute most I would have gone for that, and that is high. Maybe you should consider having SS couplers on your new bike? Would make travel with it easier (bike bag), and you wouldn't need to leave it in Texas.
  17. You decided against the Bob Jackson? A vintage bike like that might not be what you are looking for, but it looked like a nice bike.
  18. Happy Birthday, Christmas babies!
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. There's a guy on BF who has ridden when it was 40 out. MINUS 40. That's crazy, but he said it wasn't bad at all
  21. Good luck on that Bryan.
  22. It was 25-27 Mike. 10mph N wind.
  23. Way to go Vicki! Was it your right ankle that you injured (hence the thinking about unclipping your left)? Mike, sorry about the scrapes, but sounds like you had fun. Me: weenied out and only did 8 miles. Actually got a bit hot in places. Wore my new Santini shorts (likey), a pair of tights with a pair of Nike running pants over them, an Adidas T, sweatshirt and Columbia fleece over that. I hadn't eaten anything and was feeling like I might bonk, so cut it off a bit short. Still nice to get out though (although not as nice as it was for Vicki to get out )
  24. Congrats on riddance of the cast Vicki! Hope things go well and keep healing up! Nice bike Jeff! Looks to be mid '70s? EDIT: it is sunny and 25F here, light wind, no snow. Trying to talk myself into going out for 15-20 miles...
  25. Informative, thanks! We have what I presume is a Vic Firth mill that we bought a number of years ago from Williams Sonoma. I've been happy with it, though it doesn't handle really large Tellicherry peppercorns well. We mainly use malabar though. Buy most of our spices from Penzeys.
