  2. Corrected. Not in C5, but in the referenced cell. Thanks for notifying. I've added a column, that calculates the saving for each member participating in the GB vs buying the same amount directly. This is done so each participant can see if the shipping added, might eat up the saving. Insanity made that point, thanks to Insanity.
  3. In rgrds to the GB for capacitors, "Insanity" have found that Farnell.com have the Kemet 680uF/550V at 32.43 USD @ +100 I'll add it to the spreadsheet. Feel free to choose either Mundorf/Kemet Spreadsheet has been change to automaically selecting the right price (based on Farnell quote) and the total amount. The price for each member has also been added, to make it a bit easier. Thanks Insanity

Anyone have an explanation why the UL-standard seems is more demanding in comparison with MIL spec? https://edeskv2.belden.com/products/index.cfm?event=printPrev&pnum=83027&ut=English I have looked at this Belden wire ... rated at 1kV Mil Spec ...but only 300V UL standard .... it seems to 'fail' on the thickness of the insulation: the Belden wire has 0.015" UL requires minimum 0.020" for 600V and 0.022" for 1000V

  6. Following your link, I can see that they reference a Mundorf datasheet where the 680uF is rated at 550V ...like it says on the Mundorf site ....so I guess Mundorf stick to 550V ,ok?

  8. The Mjolnir KGSSHV-Mini is a pretty fine amp - not a full blown KGSSHV, simpler PSU and a bit lower voltage swing but more current as you have been told ... I guess it also depends on how old/new you 009s are ....the early one I have heard sounded artificial ....there has been postings on the newer 009s being better though Have you been searching Head-Fi? there might be loads of comments in this regard
  9. As far as I remember NoPants asked for the Mundorf Caps option, and Kevin change the layout accordingly. The Mundorf features their 4pin technology. Kevin says he uses the 4pin configuration on the cap before regulation, but shorts it on the cap at the output (uses the cap as a regular cap). As for the advantage it probably boils down to personal taste and belief As for the spreadsheet, the GB is intended for those who wants 680uF/550V. I got quote on 470uF, 580uF(custom) and 680uF ....I guess the price difference isn't huge, so I guess most wants the 680uF? (have changed the spreadsheet to indicate this, and moved the Caps GB to separate sheet in the same workbook) ...but as KingOfSnake states: they are massive huge, and that goes for both the Kemet and Mundorf. Might be something to consider when planning for a chassie.

  13. Actually 580uF ...mixed up my request with the Kemet value ...so I got a price on a 'special' value ..have asked for a price on both 470uF and 680uF ...I'll post as soon as I get the quote.

  16. isn't at pi filter there to reduce ripple? if the caps doesn't ground the spikes why should the coil resist those?
  17. Can you provide a bit more information on those noise spikes you see? Also under which circumstances, bandwidth and current pulled for instance ? Can you provide some comparison to the standard LV 78/7915 type supply? To sum up: - the GR LV can regulate at 3V but would be better at 4-5V,? and can be used up to 60V depending on components used? - the GR HV can regulate at 8V?

  23. probably the shunt resistor in the probe you are measuring ..the probes are three terminal dividers .... and I guess you measured the 80k-40 probe tip-ground? ....your Keithley only goes to 100Meg, so measuring something at 1G will put it out of range....
