  1. For the past week I have been working with another Head-Case member (JDineshk) to be able to provide caps equal to the Mundorf currently offered, but at only 12USD/cap. The caps are from FTCap in Germany, and have similar specs as the Mundorfs. The pinout and physical size of the FTCaps are compatible with the Golden Reference PSU boards. As far as I understand from my discussions with JDineshk, the FTCaps are of similar quality to the Mundrofs. The Group Buy will get the FTCaps directly from the manufactor thus we obtain a quite reasonable price on those. I have updated the group buy sheet with two extra columns. Please show your interest in either. Thanks
  2. GROUP BUY CLOSED! 4. november 2015 Group buy for Mundorf caps (started in the Carbon GB thread by MWL168) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GWDWwLfsIDtwn1HB-x76lS6WyWwLd5lwsORFKiUuuEQ/edit#gid=2024111922 The amounts has been locked, and participants requested to state their location: country/state/postal, in order to estimate shipping costs. Estimated delivery is 43 for the lot and 46 for the remainder. Working on getting on delivery week. /20150916 Update: "680uF caps are comming 23/10 (according to FTCap). As soon as I have got those I'll post pics, and start shipping" 17/10-2015.
  3. The amounts has been locked ... pm if you wanna change, please I'll do a separate thread on the Caps GB in order not to make too much confusion.
  4. If you Google: "woo ges gilmore all-triode" you probably get your answer straight away ...
  5. In rgrds to caps GB, it seems to have settled around 175 caps in total. I have negotiated that we get the same price as the +400 pieces quote. Please update the sheet with country, postal code and date for confirmation of the amount: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GWDWwLfsIDtwn1HB-x76lS6WyWwLd5lwsORFKiUuuEQ/edit#gid=2024111922 I'll calculate estimated shipping based on location information. Thanks
  6. I am not in on the GR LV Single nor the BIAS apart from that it looks fine. /S
  7. Well, well, not excatly my point or reason for asking the question ... but if it has offended anyone I am sorry, was actually trying to simplify this GB a bit ....
  8. So there are nothing special about the Skinny Single, or the Fat Single ....can be used for Circlotron or any other amp for regular HV, right? As far as I understand both FAT and Skinny includes BIAS/LV in addition to the HV, so a right+left of either Fat or Skinny will result in HV+LV+BIAS, similar to the GR Fat Dual, right?
  9. Please clarify what can be used for the HV900 supply: HV Single FAT HV Single Skinny GR HV Dual
  10. The GB has two almost similar boards: "HV Single Fat" and "HV Single Skinny", both has a right (HV+LV) and a left (HV+BIAS), they differ in dimensions only as far as I can see, where the FAT version is 4.05" x 5.45", and the "Skinny" is 3" x 6.48". The dimensions for the FAT makes it impossible to mount in a 2U chassie other than horizontal. The Skinny however, can be mount both horizontal and vertical. My question to the GB participants that has choosen the FAT singles, would they consider changing to Skinny singles if the board is being traced?
  11. Do you have a better source for transformers then?
  12. This is ONLY a probe for interest. if someone knows a reliable source that might be better than the one I found, please chim in ... if someone knows a reliable way to secure NOS and so on ....please chim in ...everybody will benefit then.
  13. Update on Caps GB: the Kemet 680uF/550V (screw terminal) from Farnell at +100 is at 24,5USD each (spreadsheet updated) I guess the snap in caps would be at a slightly lower price I assume.
  14. its for matched quads ... as stated in the first post I'd be happy, and everybody else I guess, if you can provide us genuine xf2s at 440USD for match quads ....please do
  15. Yup, added )
  16. GROUP BUY CLOSED 13/10-2015 Probing interest for doing GB on EL34(6CA7) NOS tubes. EL34(6CA7) XF2 MINIWATT NOS MADE BY MULLARD BLACKBURN UK Matched QuadsMade in 1966-68, at Mullard, Blackburn UKThe code on the tube is xf2 B7L3 showing this is manufactored by Mullard.Tubes has been tested on an Avo 163, and matched in quads. Price: 147USD/tube (depending on the exchange rate) ....we may obtain a small discount if reaching 40 in total The supplier guarantee that the tubes are original and is able to exchange a tube that turns out to be bad with a similar xf2 Mullard as he have several in stock. Show your interest in the GB sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/131vk972PEIm-J4r5IbZT7IP7CAqoMfP4j0RfE0J0xeM/edit#gid=1878013049 I have asked the seller whether he can provide AT1000 printout. Will post answer later. If someone have a better source, or ideas in order to get NOS EL34 at a resonable price please chim in. Anyone interested might also add a max price in the sheet.
  17. how do ToroIDY react to returns?
  18. as in they don't work at all??
  19. my own thinking in this rgrd was based on the recommandation for a 150VA for the KGSShv ...and since the Carbon pulls 4*16mA more I ended up at 200VA The Blue Hawaii is pulling a lot more I guess ....at least if you take the heathers into account? I guess it boils down to the "reasonable factor" for how much overhead you want ...
  20. Sorry, please try again
  21. Please share your calculation behind that recommandation ...
  22. Now, Kerry is currently about to test the latest revision of the Kevin Gilmore Digital Attenuator, and since a few people have asked for a Group Buy we hereby probe the interest. Kerry is mostly inclined for the 50k version. Please put your request into the referenced Google spreadsheet. The information in the sheet in rgrds to price is from the former group buy and only to give an idea of where we might end with this group buy. As last time we will investigate cost of fully assembled boards as well as bare boards (with stencil) if people wants to DIY. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/131vk972PEIm-J4r5IbZT7IP7CAqoMfP4j0RfE0J0xeM/edit?usp=sharing Let me know if the sheet can be improved/enhanced/misses something or whatever The original thread: Please note that one board for two channel balanced operations
