Notification in rgrds to shipping. In order to keep shipping cost down, the US portion has been sent to Jay in Maryland; that will handle US distribution. The shipping seems to be delivered monday (tomorrow) in Maryland. US participant will have to wait just a little longer. /S

A few sets in excess from the Group Buy is available as a Circlotron basic kit: including ALL pcbs, 4x680uF/550V + 16x 470uF/550V caps Have added the needed HV boards to the set as well, that was NOT part of the Circlotron Group Buy. Goes for 400USD/set (equals the Group Buy Price) + shipping + paypal. PM if interested. /S

about 40-50 people participated in the Carbon or Caps Group Buy. The SK56 Fischer heatsink I use two of in my Carbon CCs weighs about 1,3kg each ~ 760 SK56 / ton -> average 16 heatsinks /50 participants RS-Online sell those for about 23EUR/sink, buying 500 the price drops about 28%. Buying directly from Fischer rather than RS-Online should cut some 30% at least - so a guess would be 12EUR/sink -> average of ~ 185EUR/16sinks x 50 participants Maybe a joint Head-Case effort making a box design that would scale from Dynalo - Dynahi/KGSShv/KGST/Carbon/BHSE - Circlotron in three steps where only the height, the top/bottom plate changes? maybe a back/front plate in a 'nordic' design and a 'japanese' design (lots of text/lights/buttons..) ?

Thanks a lot. Was a bit surprised that it actually took two hole working days to do the re-packing, keeping track of each order ... and finally do a re-check on the excess amounts ....turned out that I had two more 680uF than expected and two less 470uF than expected what the H....!!! .....hmmmm, should I really have to open each package in the pile and re-check??? ....I decided to try figuring out when the error might happend from the order in which I did the packages ...which brought me down to two suspects ... and it turned out that the first of the two I reopened did actually have two of each rather than four 680uF I certainly hope I didn't make errors that even each other out, and that all packages survive the royal treatment of UPS ...

First shipping as of today. US/Canda + some others. Canda is going direct. US going by Jay.(people will receive pm with tracking) Another bach tomorrow. Then only a few will have to wait until late next week, where the remainder of the caps arrives. some packages may look a bit crusty, but every single cap has been wrapped in plastic bubbles, then the batch has been wrapped in bigger plastic bubbles (Mouser, pink)

ok, might be pushing it a bit too far I guess
-
so bottom line .... having bought someones unfinished project, was it worth it?
-
Thanks a bunch for sharing anyways ... you are not the only one who have been chasing a red herring from time to time

so the measurments refered to in the first two posts in this rgrd has been taken at various places? the first (3x150+130) made at R42, the (3x150+130+50) and (4x150) made at r39/zener connection?
-
so basically you get a drop on a piece of cobber trace? (by stating "front of R40" assuming you mean the end that connects directly to the r39+zenerstring ?)
-
adding 50V to the zener string made the voltage jump 100V? Swapping 130V with 150V make it jump 50V? Don't know how you've added the 50V zener or swapped the 130V/150V ...but it seems like you get the right voltage when tampering with the 130V zener ... might it be a bad connection on the board itself?
-
First batch arrived today Will begin shipping starting monday next week.2/11-2015
-
4x 130V = 520V ? ....should be 3x 150V + 130V = 580V

I actually read the welcome PM, and thought it would fit right in?
-
blow your bear bottle and you have a "helmholtz resonator" - by drinking the beer you'll adjust the resonance frequency
-
Any news ?
-
Just bought ten bottles of Tallisker ;o)
-
before the upgrade the search field defaulted to "this topic" ....which is what I need most of the time ... can we have that back?
-
ok ... expressed myself badly. Replacing lambda/sigma drivers with x04 drivers is a rather simple straight forward job ...whereas replacing using x07 is far more risky due to the reasons you described very well.. As far as I know the mylar Stax is using is manufactored containing the coating, it is not applied by Stax?
-
have a SRD7mkII that has NB + PRO ....seems to work fine ...don't have a meter that can measure it without dragging it down though

does the x07 drivers fit into x04 or previous? from my knowledge they do not.

Correct my posting, thanks. Isn't 500V rails on the onboard KGSShv pushing it a bit?

http://www.aavid.com/product-group/accessories/washers (you need to make sure that the washer goes into the alu pad so not metal is exposed. As for the Zeners, it doesn't matter as long as the total sum is the same: 500V (DC450V) or 550V (DC500V) [As per comment by Spritzer below] if you are really kean on getting those 680uF/450V I can supply you some, pm me - wouldn't do it my self though ... those are in series and thus can withstand the 500V no prob As for the 2200uF/50V ....no big deal ....you might hear some strange noise when powering off the amp and have the headphone connected ...nothing to worrie about ....should you consider changing to 3300uF go for 35V rather than 25V ... and please change the rectifiers for the STTH512F as pointed out by several good people in here A general advice; please read this thread ...yes, all of it ... you might find yourself much better equipped afterwards....and answers to all your questions as well :o)
