  1. I am sorry I don't have good news on the USPS shipping. The two kinds of packing containers I ordered a week ago, one did not arrive this week (supposed to be 3 -5 business days, it has been 6 days now), the one arrived today was not what I ordered (wrong dimension). Went down to another post office and was told again that they too do not have those containers in stock. Very disappointing! I did pick up a few containers that's only good for domestic priority shipping and cannot accommodate the GR HV Dual PSU. It's also not padded like the one I ordered. I will start shipping domestic orders that do not include the GR HV Dual boards. I apologize again for this delay.
  2. I was able to attached an Excel spreadsheet in the past in PM and posting. Is this feature still available? Thanks!
  3. There will be a few days delay in shipping of boards. I apologize. Went down to the main USPS office Saturday morning to pick up packaging supply only to be told that they do not have any of the kind I need in stock and that I have to order them online. Placed the order last night and it says it will take 3 - 5 business days. Boards are sorted and ready to be packaged. The boards appear to be very good quality by visual inspection.
  4. More pics of the PCBs as promised. Out of town this weekend. Should start shipping packages out next week.
  5. Look at what FedEx dropped off today: Here is what I found inside: Got home late tonight. Will post more pics tomorrow.
  6. For my own benefit and possibly others, can someone confirm or correct the following: The regulated output voltage is: for V+: ((R8 + R7) / R7) x 10 (reference voltage of D5 - LT1021-10) for V-: ((R9 + R10) / R10) x 10 (reference voltage of D7 - LT1021-10) On the goldenreference4 board silkscreen, R7, R8, R9 R10 are all 1.5K. R7 and R8 are connected and R9 and R10 are connected. R8 and R9 are the 1.5K resistors closer to the DN2540 on each side of the board. Thanks!
  7. There seems to be an intermittent issue when I try to respond to a PM. When I tap the "Reply to ..." link, instead of giving me a text box to type my reply, it asks me to attach a file. But this problem comes and goes. Also, any chance of bringing back the posting numbers? It's a useful feature when referring to information in postings. Thanks!
  8. Doh! Thanks! Don't know how I missed that one. Interest added to the spreadsheet.
  9. Looks great Kerry! If there is a GB for this, I like to state my interest for an assembled board option like the last one Kerry ran.
  10. I placed our order of the boards with PCBnet today and received order confirmation. The boards should be ready to deliver to me by August 27 or sooner. I am going to start working on preparation for packaging and shipping in the next few days. I will keep you all posted
  11. Payment sent. Thanks!
  12. Thanks all for your prompt responses and payments. I sent PCBnet all the latest version Gerber files yesterday for final confirmation of quotes. I will place the order soon as I receive the confirmation which I expect in a day or two. I will keep you posted.
  13. Did you test them with load? These regulators are suppose to work properly under load. See some discussions on page 175 of this thread where Kerry and others came to my rescue with my problem. I had similar problem with the - regulator but not with the + regulator when I built my PSU. I thought the regulator was toasted too but once I tested it with load, it worked as spec'ed and has been working properly since.
  14. Maybe this will be fixed once the background jobs are done running but the posting number is missing. This is an important feature to me especially for those threads with large number of postings.
  15. Here is the updated GB detail sheet with the new quotes on the GR LV Single and Bias boards. I like to now start collecting payments from all. Please send your payment to my PayPal account ( [email protected] ) by end of Tuesday, Aug. 11. I'll place our order with PCBnet when I receive all payments. Here is the logistics: For participants with US domestic shipping address: 1. include your HeadCase ID and shipping address in the note of your PayPal payment 2. add $6.1 US to your total listed, the $6.1 will cover the USPS flat rate priority mail shipping from me to you. For non-US shipping address: 1. include your HeadCase ID and shipping address in the note of your PayPal payment 2. I will PM you your shipping charge when I receive the boards from PCBnet. Actual shipping charge will need to be determined based on the actual weight of your boards and your shipping address. If you prefer not to use PayPal Gift, please include in your payment the applicable PayPal fee. This fee varies from country to country, you'll need to look it up at PayPal’s web site. Please let me know if I missed something.
  16. No experience with Stax Quattro. Last time I had some major sticking/opening drawer issue with Wadia transport it turned out to be aging rubber belts in the drawer mechanism needed to be replaced. Given the age of these players that's where I would look first (if belt(s) is used). For ransom tracking issues I usually make sure there was no dust or other contamination on the laser lens first. I did have to replace a laser assembly once due to aging as well.
  17. I have asked for new quotes for the GR LV Single and Bias boards with sorenb dropping his order for these boards as his order accounted for large percentage of the quantities (30% and 42% respectively). I will update the sheet when I receive the quotes.
  18. I received official quote from PCBnet for 2mm, 3oz copper HV PS boards. The end cost difference is quite reasonable ($1 for the Dual and $0.5 for the Fat, see details in the spreadsheet). I have updated the spreadsheet with this change. I am also proposing that we drop the HV Single Skinny board option altogether. Except for DonnyHiFi and chiguy, all others have decided to switch over to either the Dual or the Fat HV PS. I took the liberty to switch DonnyHiFi and chiguy’s options to the Fat boards. Please let me know if you have objections. I have also updated quantities based on PMs and postings in the last few days. I now consider the quantities final. Please review and let me know if I missed something. By end of this weekend I will post logistics of how I will collect the payments from all and proceed to place our order with PCBnet. Thanks all for your patience. EDIT 8/6: removed GB detail sheet to avoid confusion. See the most current sheet a few posts down.
  19. Thanks for the consideration. My real concern is the board cost - at the already small quantity of the skinny boards, further decrease in the quantity will no doubt have significant impact to the cost. I don't remember if I traced the HV Single Skinny boards but I did trace the HV Single Fat boards.
  20. Lots of changes here and from PMs I received in the last few days. Also have non-official quotes on upgrading the HV PS boards to 3oz copper and looks like the cost difference will be minimal ( should be less than $1 US per board). Unless there are objections I like to switch all HV PS boards to 3oz copper as Kevin suggested. I will post new GB details with everyone's quantity/cost updated in a few days.
  21. Please don't update the spreadsheet on the Google Doc. I no longer use it since I closed the GB. You can either post here or PM me if you really need to change your order.
  22. It's your decision on the HV single skinny boards. Just be aware that those boards are small quantities and that's why the cost is high. Reducing quantity will likely drive the cost higher by a significant margin. No pressure:-)
  23. I have a question about PayPal fee and hoping someone with legal expertise can help clarify or confirm one way or the other. I spent some time this weekend reading PayPal’s policy and, based on my understanding, I feel we should be able to use what we generally refer to as “PayPal Gift” when you send me the money for your order and not have to incur PayPal fee. Here is my reasoning: 1. This is a Group Buy, effectively we are pooling our money together to purchase merchandise (PCB boards) in large quantity to reduce cost. I am simply the person organizing the GB and collecting the money from the participants to pay the manufacture. 2. You are not buying boards or services from me. I am not profiting from this process. Can someone with legal expertise/knowledge/experience chime in? I prefer not to organize the next GB from behind bars
  24. I have posted the detail of everyone’s order and total cost here and also on my first post. Please review and verify your quantity is up to date and correct. Note that for the single PS boards, quantity of 2 indicates you will receive 1 left board and 1 right board (or 1 minus and 1 plus for the LV). The net cost of the board is the manufacture cost of the board which I posted earlier. The gross cost accounts for contribution to Kevin’s board and packaging material. I then round it to the whole dollar (5 boards were rounded up, 2 were rounded down). Please let me know if you have objections or concerns. Additionally, I’ve asked PCBnet for new quotes to up the HV PS boards to 3oz copper based on Kevin’s recommendation. I will post the new quotes when I receive them.
