I could have gone for slightly larger screen size, Apple probably considered the size of the pad vs weight given you have to hold it or balance it to prop it up.
Last night I watched like 5 episodes of Dollhouse on netflix instant and thought the quality was fantastic
I do believe you were right there with me kissing HD800 ass my friend and as for the 404 le I think (but could be wrong booze being what it is) that I qualified the statement based on price/performance.
I am pretty happy with the O2's but after the 4070s arrive two enter the cage but only one shall remain in Carlisle
My O2 mkls have just arrived from Japan in great shape and sounding sweet. While I know east/west coast representation has ranked them third overall in the Stax world, they are floating my boat.
Sonic Studio 305 > eXsTaTa > Os mkl is rocking my world on the Abbey Road remaster
Mike and Al, if you are using the metric halo/sonic dac/adcs, you can turn your wireless keyboard into a remote for the monitor console. Yes, rowmote pro is good as an airmouse and rowmote does an ok job as a remote for amarra.
The owner of the store is a Magnepan dealer and strongly supports the line I have to assume he has what he feels is a reasonable set up to represent a favorite of his. I do however do think that a better amp may improve the bass and imagining of the 1.7s. I did like them and hope my comment s do not come off as a bash I was just not bowled over once I level set with my speakers upon my return home.
Well I've owned my Alon Lotus SE speakers for close to a year now and love them. They sounded great in my house in Cali as the room had decent diffusion and not much of an echo. When I loved to PA and set them up in my second story loft they sounded pretty awful. There was a fairly massive echo and no real low bass to speak of.
I have used some auralex treatments in the past and they are ok but in this room they just did not do the trick. So after much searching on the web I checked out GIK as there panels are reasonably well made and very fairly priced based on parts cost and minimal labor costs. At $70 a panel for their 244 panel ( a 2' x 4' and 4" deep) I picked up 8 panels for my 13 x 18 room. After hanging 4 and placing the other 4 ( I probably could have just used 6) the sound has taken a huge leap forward. Images are much more defined micro detail in spades with much better extension on the top and bottom end. I understood how the absorption panels would reduce echo and clean up the mids and highs but I was not prepared for the distinct improvement in bass response in both quantity and quality.
As yo can see still have some work to do in the room like figuring out the TV placement and better placement of the rack as well as removal of the second rack. I am thinking of trying to ceiling mount a panel for first refections there as well as making up some corner ceiling traps but for now I am just enjoying my system and kicking myself for not doing this sooner. Any suggestions regarding placement of panels is appreciated as well.
I heard them last weekend in the Baltimore area and while impressed after re-listening to my set up at the house I'm standing pat. They play big with huge images but at the price of precision. Images are supersized but not clear and focused as I'd like them to be. Tonally they were good performers and they were dynamically good performers as well. Bass was ok but bass often is a function of the speaker and the room so YMMV the dealer recommended a sub with them. They played loud with a rouge el34 integrated (god I do not like push pull pentode amps) but in the end I'd like to hear them with a better amp to hear if they were capable of more.
