Call Jamie and find out but the LA office is more an artist relations pre audio office.

Wes thanks I've got the silver dragon which is far lighter and netter but still the top of my head gets fatigued over time. It's not a really big deal as it is a good indicator that I need to get out of the house and do something

says the wanker without a buzz and without the LCD 2s:dan: just for reference the GGD cds have no dynamic range and the Zus spit out shite whereas the LCDs spit out shit on a silver platter
-
ok just for reference just tried to rock out to "long way down" by the Goo Goo Dolls on the Zu's and it was ok on the LCDs it was FUCK YEAH

How dio you like this release, I'd not seen it yet and I am a fan of this era. It has the appearance of a Pablo records LP cover

New OSX Opensource audiophile player : Audirvana
jp11801 replied to jp11801's topic in Home Source Components
weird so far it is glitch free for me but I haven't tried to load my library into it, I am loading it one playlist or cd at the time I want to play them and then wipe the playlist screen after -
don't know why I am amazed by this but it is pretty cool that most of the instrumentation on this video is from ipad apps
-
Dang the LCDs are sweet, while I love my speaker rig they constantly compete for time with the Zu and Alons I could listen all day except for the fatigue at the crown of my head from the head band

New OSX Opensource audiophile player : Audirvana
jp11801 replied to jp11801's topic in Home Source Components
it's sorta like the twilight beta player only that somewhat looked like a car stereo While I still like amarra better, as a free player it sample rate changes, loads tracks into memory, takes over your dac and runs in hog mode. All and all a nice first stab, if you like the player throw the guy that designed it a few bucks if you feel it is worth it. I tend to drag and drop titles into the track list area it is something I got used to from the later versions of amarra -
Do Transports Matter--or are bitses bitses?
jp11801 replied to The Monkey's topic in Home Source Components
I don't know why they matter but they seem to. SIburning did a transport shootout with a portable dac at a NY meet and the differences were pretty stark. Yeah I know it is not the best or even a good test environment but the differences were there. It suprised most of us that participated. I've not heard a good usb to spdif yet but I only dabbled in the $100-$200 group. The trends and hagusb had the effect of rolling off the leading edge of the notes the attack sounded muted compared to optical out of a my mac -
Springsteen DOTEOT, remaster and original japan press, verdict remaster not as good as 20+ year old cd.

Just caught this on computeraudiophile's site. I've got ayrewave, amarra, I've used pure music and twilight and this one is nice. I just drag and drop the cd I want to play from my music folder in itunes and it loads right up. Has memory play and auto sample rate change as well, best of all it is open source and free for the moment at least. http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/New-OSX-Opensource-audiophile-player-Audirvana
