  1. Gene Happy Birthday my man hope you have a great day!
  2. Tom that sucks, while I love mine it has been a roller coaster ride filled with hassles
  3. these are really nice headphones, I've had a pretty bad cold that I am just now getting over so my audio thoughts may change. I did bring them over to Carl's and heard them on his Woo WA6SE and they sounded pretty great. Extension, detail and separation are strengths with the occasional weird stage presentation being it's only drawback to me. They are very attractive and well made cans but you need a big noggin to keep them from sliding down your head.
  4. Left Hand Weak Sauce Porter Pretty unique it may be the most coffee I've tasted in a beer.
  5. Hells yeah Jim nice score! I did a bit of damage at Record Store Day Ving Lee, CHristmas single Quadrophenia Demos Imagine Box set with bonus track LP (white vinyl) Blood Sugar Sex Magic (red vinyl) Black Keys 12inch The Dead, Europe 72 part 2 Tom Petty Kiss My Amps
  6. Mike save me some leftovers bud!!
  7. Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a great time.

    HBD JP11801!

I'm a bit slow on the uptake with my travels, thanks to all for the well wishes and a very special thanks to Al and the Bay area crew for celebrating my birthday with me.
  9. Happy belated birthday hope you had many fine beers
  10. Happy Birthday my friend from the great white north.
  11. I really love my 3a and could be happy with it as my only system. It sounds good fed by USB or a LOD. It is great with a USB to spdif converter like the halide or stello units.

  15. Dinny hope you are having a great b-day
  16. holy shit Kerry's BH is mind blowingly hawt
  17. The new 3a has a slight edge over my older unit even though I want to believe my older one is better due to the active crossovers. I fully believe that the older unit with active crossovers could be made to sound as good with eq tweaks. The seperation the new 3a gets is pretty amazing when you listen to multi track guitar work like LZs the song remains the same each little part is very apparent. Mike glad to see you saved $1800!!
  18. Chris my condolences, hope you have a good birthday when the time is right
  19. Mikey Happy Birthday, sounds like a fun filled and dram filled day
  20. I really like some of the stuff on HD tracks and feel most are worth the cash. Audacity's tools are not the most accurate (or so I am told) but they give you a rough idea. I'm sure someone will correct me but your first plot shows frequency activity above 22khz so likely it is 24/96 (no that you'd hear distortion and artifacts above 22khz) I'm pretty flip floppy on the whole issue. Recording needle drops high res makes a difference when encoding the analog signal and applying the RIAA curve digitally. Playback is tougher and 24/44.1 is ok or the movie standard of 24/48 is cool as well while I've heard plenty of 24/192 that sound awesome I'm not sure its needed for all recordings.
  21. Had a fresh roasted coffee and will likely follow with a few beers that Raffy and Mike left after the weekend
