Resolved by the Board of Directors that we, and the National Advisory Committee, Editors and Staff of PatriotPost.US, willingly and of our own free will, affirm our belief in, reliance upon and commitment to the God of Christendom, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Christendom - a small village / hamlet in County Kilkenny, the Republic of Ireland (using google earth). Odd place for a U.S. magazine team to commit to a god

Erin Brokovich great film, plenty of laughter, educational and a feelgood = win, win, win, win

Being from that island I recognise slavery and denying women the vote as both being very popular at the time and the other two are still popular expressions of foreign/conquest policy for countries around the world even today . the more things change the more they stay the same

I found reading Thomas Jefferson: The Declaration of Independence much more interesting, but I`m more inclined to freethought

Anyone in the UK using a Zerosurge or Brickwall surge protector ?
Spiug31 replied to Spiug31's topic in Miscellaneous
There aren't many that show up on searches for "linear mode surge suppresor" using google and filtering for the UK. -edit- I've just spotted a FURMAN PL-8-E II which at a cheaper price may well be what I'm looking for At least with this design the connecting plugs will all be rated for 240V. who is Lucas ? If there are other recommended surge protectors that don't interfere with audio equipment please let me know -
Is anyone in the UK using a Zerosurge or Brickwall surge protector ? I've asked zerosurge and they say they can fit it for 240v, (though with the standard US plug type and receptacles,) if anyone in the UK is using one of these I'd be greatful for some feedback on your experiences. :I know only a few of the members are UK residents but am ready to be suprised by relevant insights : This will be for protecting the beta22, mini-dac and any other audio related goodies I later acquire. I'm currently looking at getting a http://www.zerosurge.com/HTML/modsres.html 1MOD15WI thanks

Fringe and Sanctuary are the only two current sci-fi series I find captivating and that`s in spite of the accent used by amanda tapping in Sanctuary.

Does anybody know how to build an electromagnet?
Spiug31 replied to Chekhonte's topic in Do It Yourself
just a thought, have you considered visiting your local scrap yards and see what magnets they may have on the cheap ? Is there a specific reason you are wanting to use an electromagnet rather than a permanent one ? Looking at "http://scitation.aip.org/phf/gallery/2003-lorenz.jsp" you may be looking for magnets capable of exerting 100G for the ferrofluid to perform. Spoiler warning: the following link shows lab procedure and results (on page 7) found by exposing ferrofluid to different strengths of magnetic fields. http://www.nsec.ohio-state.edu/teacher_workshop/Measuring_Magnetic_Fields.pdf It looks like a fun subject for a project -
very enjoyable, thankyou mechanisation without computers, good fun to watch supersized meccano

no, I prefer to handwrite my checks as this provides a far more memorable occurence, a variation in one highly constrained day and generates its own reward when I know I`ve been able to accomplish the goal

I`m learning to use a Pelikan M400 fountain pen, the ink literally does flow when the nib touches paper. I`ve been surprised, it is a real pleasure to use, the first and only time I`ve had a writing implement that glides when in use Pelikan M400, Oblique Medium nib, Noodlers Polar black ink p.s. am unable to write with ballpoints or pencils due to the induced physical stress and resulting exhaustion.

how do usb fed dacs compare to cd sources ?
Spiug31 replied to Spiug31's topic in Home Source Components
p.s. The files fed via usb are currently being ripped with abcde into flac. The only tweak being applied is a statmat CDi Blue -
With my 4-channel Beta22 being assembled by thrice and only having had an H120 fed piccolo dac then my current H120 or usb fed mini-dac I have a question. How do usb fed dacs compare to cd sources ? I am particularly curious about the balanced redbook cd sources in the sub $2000 and sub $1000 price brackets either new, secondhand or pre-built diy.

being british 'McCain-Palin` got me thinking how Michael Palin considers McCain oven chips. Proving to me that that TV is good for advertising foods and for broadcasting travel series
