  1. I love you people.
  2. I already love my 13s and was already thinking about heading toward the 16 as well; now it makes even more sense. If such things do make any sense at all.
  3. It helps me spend money.
  4. Did a tour of four wineries in the Santa Ynez area...Curtis, Brander, Lincourt and Lafond. Great day for it; mostly overcast and mild.
  5. Drove from LA to Santa Barbara on a Friday evening. Not the best time to drive. Made it, tho. Going to drink some wine at a few places in Santa Ynez tomorrow. Yummers!
  6. Could you provide any more detail? I know it's a show setting, etc. Just curious. I remember two long listening sessions with universal B.F. (Before Freq'ing) versions of each before finally deciding on the 13s. It does seem like a shame not to rename the products. If it's such an improvement, you'd think they'd want to shout it at the top of their lungs! Especially since it's only affecting their top three products...anyway, hopefully people won't freq the fuck out. JH16FP, anyone?
  7. Talk about Breaking the Waves. See what I did there?
  8. It was as if tens of Head-Casers suddenly cried out in terror, and DT Wells was suddenly silenced for at least a two-week timeout facing the corner in a funny hat.
  9. The other thing amazing about House of Suns is the fact that he devotes a single sentence, paragraph, or chapter to a concept that other authors might draw out over a series of five fucking books. It makes his universe rich and full and alive. I am in awe of this man. Looks like I'll be pulling up Chasm City on mah kindle next—I don't see how he can top House of Suns, but I'm happy to read runners-up. Thanks for the recommendations!
  10. The Dukes of Stratosphear — 25 O'Clock
  11. House of Suns and Revelation Space, in that order. My first two of his books. I found House of Suns quite moving in some surprising ways. What's next?
  12. Dire Straits — Brothers in Arms 20th
  13. I can't resist. Why does Snoop Dogg carry an umbrella?
  14. Holyshitsnacks! Watching that piece, I now I have a visceral understanding of the phrase "mouth agape."
  15. Sweet! Does the new manufacturing process have to be—ahem—phased in? See what I did there? And are they making an announcement at all, or is it just all new orders from after a certain date will have the new hotness? I haven't seen anything on their website or blog...
  16. Red Stag Beef Short Ribs Made 'em with my sister. They turned out great. Add some mashed potatoes (use a ricer!) and dig in. Yummers!
  17. Tyll, do you know if are there going to be Freqphase™ versions of the JH16 as well? That way, I might actually be able to justify another set of CIEMs. But damn I love my non-Freq'd JH13s...maybe they just became a collector's item! Yeah, that's it...
  18. Or maybe an SSD? I'd be shitting bricks if a performance depended upon spinning (magnetic) disks. In any case, break a leg at RISE!
  19. My wallet made that post. Damn you, wallet! I'm making this one: BRING IT. That's all I need, to be around more enablers. Wait a minute, that's why I came here in the first place...
  20. Wallet does not want to hear any more about this.
  21. Wes Montgomery — Body and Soul
  22. +1 on Dali. I have a pair of their Helicon 400 Mk2s and they're made of win.
  23. Amon Tobin at the Greek just blew my effing mind.
  24. Preparing to see the show at the Greek tonight... Amon Tobin — ISAM
  25. 634+23 = 657 My wife the cradle-robber grabbed me in college when I was a sophomore and she was a senior (1989). It took us 21 years to do it (2010), but now we have a daughter who's almost two. Seriously, we were together longer than I'd been alive before we had a child. I don't even know what that means, but I have to say Dinny's as right about kids as he is about DACs...my little daughter is the best thing that's ever happened to me ever ever.
