We did Thomas Keller's fried chicken and the Modernist Cuisine take on Mac and Cheese (hurray for sodium citrate!) for Christmas dinner. Baking the cheese/sodium citrate/tapioca starch cracker to make the topping turned out to be more time-consuming than making the actual casserole. Oh, and we did biscuits. And there were pies involved.
None of it survived, and I don't think I took any pix. WTF is wrong with me?
+1
My 16s came in yesterday, quite a few days ahead of schedule. They fit perfectly, sound great, and all I want to do is listen to them. I would also agree with the following statement:
Just got an email from Oppo saying I can buy a Roku stick from them to enable Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, and HBO Go for $49.99 (50% off), because I bought a 103 from them. Doesn't come with a Roku remote—it just plugs in to the MHL port.
And now they're available bundled with the players when you purchase them.
Holy shitsnacks!
Went to a premiere tonight, for Zero Dark Thirty at the Dolby in Hollywood
Saw Kathryn Bigelow, Jessica Chastain, and Marks Strong and Duplass up close, among others (no pics tho).
And had a few vodka tonics. For free.
Here's the photo:
I made a little credit notice to go with it, to mount underneath:

MetalPrint (aluminum infused with superheated sublimation ink)
18" x 12"
Went to the 20th anniversary of a holiday party I've been going to since the 4th.
It's a Yankee swap and this year we had to bring art. I had a MetalPrint made of a photograph I took a couple of years ago in Death Valley, and it was stolen quite a few times, so that felt good.
I feel old, but loved.
Shitfire!
That'll teach me to just look at the first pic.
I had no idea what all the fuss was about. Now all has become clear...
I also love the customs declaration ICELANDIC TREATS.
Six (count 'em) six pork tenderloins for a massive holiday get-together tomorrow.
Tomorrow morning: 65º eggs and cheesy grits to go with the tenderloin.
Pix as they become available...
