Come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever even used plain vi rather than vim. I think the closest I've come is when vim gets started up in its compatibility mode and momentarily puzzles me with unexpected behavior.
Correction, just discovered that there is a rar command on the server, so I'm splitting the archive up into smaller sets so it'll show up on HTTP, and people can download pictures or videos first as they like. I'll also leave the extracted contents up, so people can go directly to photos while waiting for the archives to download.
Looks like the upload completed not long ago. Unfortunately apache is being a bitch about serving files over 2GB over HTTP, so I'm copying a backup of the photo archive to my personal folder, then I'll give the FTP password out.
No they're okay, and I got finished cleaning everything up just in time for a new wave of storms to flood everything all over again, twice as bad. Could be worse though, in other areas around here houses are submerged, roads collapsing, bridges washing out, etc.
The heavy rain last night caused a lot of flooding in Atlanta, including my basement. Spent most of last night and today bailing out water and mopping up the mess. Just now getting to resume the listening session I was in the middle of twelve hours ago.
