    AKG K271S

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
  2. I have been glancing at them only periodically on ebay lately, but that's still in the same ballpark for a good condition pair. Not necessarily a minty perfect pair anymore, since those come up less often and so they draw the big bids now, but still very good pairs most of the time from what I've seen. Maybe you paid a lot more for yours? But that doesn't make the typical market price for them a "lowball" offer. However, if everybody wants to pay something like $150 for a pair, maybe I should start buying all the pairs that come up on ebay and resell them for that price. Even the ones in the EU with added expense for international shipping and bank fees, I would still make a good profit doing that.
  3. God approves of AKG:
  4. Hell yeah I would! I would show up with some of my other AKG swag (t-shirt, tour jacket, baseball cap) on top of it, too. Just so people would have no doubt that I was about to own the place.
  5. But the hangers are just random junk I had laying around: Electrical wire, flat washers, drywall screws (had to shorten with bolt cutters), and heatshrink. The middle production K240 sextett is my favourite (I use it more than the K1000). I have plenty of older ones.... K240 sextett (early, middle, and late production), K240 Diffuse-Field, K240 Monitor, K240 50th Anniversary Edition, K241, K242, K250, K260, K260 Professional, K270 Playback, K270 Studio, K270 HC Talkback, K280, K290 Surround, K290 Stereo, K340, K400, K401, K500, K501, and K1000. Of course I would use AKG microphones. Why would you even ask such a silly question. I already have a headset with an AKG mic too.
  6. A sturzhelm man like yourself wouldn't understand. If AKG sold an equivalent to my electrical wire / drywall screw hangers, I would probably use the official one to hang all of my headphones.
  7. K1000 at top right. K701 was sold for sounding like rubbish. You have to turn around in the picture. I usually don't listen inside the closet, so I don't keep my power amps in there. Fitz sez shut yer trap
  8. Does this qualify me as an Grado fanboy?

    Serious Mid-Fi

My goodness, that sturzhelm makes the wearer look absolutely stunning.
  14. postjack's mom. man did I get gypped on that deal.
  15. Snow? I haven't even been able to wear anything heavier than a t-shirt lately because it's been so warm.
  16. I like around 9-10 feet of cable on my headphones... enough to let me move around the immediate area, but not enough to get tangled up underneath my chair.
  17. :D <-- happy Fitz face (yes it comes in threes)
  18. Oh you're a fine one to talk about people having absurd amps. At least mine is cute, so it can get in closer before it goes for the kill.
  19. Only 200?
  20. It's back.
  21. Will do. I'll report back once they're ready.
  22. They're not shielding anything, it's just extra bulk to make the cable thicker. The wire costs practically nothing for a length like that, so I suppose it's worth it to be able to charge more for the cable than they would be able to if they left it much thinner.
  23. Ah good, this thread just reminded me that I need to call up Frank and yell at him on Monday.
  24. I turn the phones up until the neighbors start complaining, anything else just isn't sufficient. Coincidentally this is only half as loud as philodox listens.
  25. Mine still haven't "warmed up" and I've had them for several months.
