  1. Those large Sennheiser badges are just pure class...
  2. Yeah, that is kinda the point of the whole thing.

    Stax L700

They are the same or similar to the SR-SC1 and some 404's so not bright at all.
  4. Someone find me a set of broken 009's and I can figure out what the fuck is going on with the newer Stax. No way I'm going to rip open my sets.. This has to be an issue with the new PEEK diaphragm material though. Properly heat-treated and high tension mylar as Stax have used is very stable indeed. They could also have changed the coating materials as PEEK has very different properties compared to mylar.
  5. Nope if the transformer is of good quality. Those switch mode units I wouldn't touch.
  6. The amps can't get CE certification with exposed tubes. No way around that so most have an "optional" tube cover which nobody buys. That amp looks like something from ETF so hardly commercial.
  7. I've not heard anything but I think it would be a good move to continue with them.
  8. I find it quite funny that they use the wide PC-OCC cable and not the thin Lambda Pro cable as all the basic sets have used.
  9. This does play into the EU regs for using tubes as they must be fully enclosed. Well than there is the wank factor which this product is full of.
  10. Only the heaters are different so once that has been accounted for there is no difference.
  11. That is sad indeed.

The 4070 is the same or even slightly worse than the Lambdas (due to the extra weight pushing on the earpads) but the Sigma would be ideal.

    I haven't tried them.
  14. I've been down this road before and it is a dangerous way to DIY, as in I have these two parts, let's spend 400$ on parts for it... As for those specs, the M3? It uses a single brick psu but sounds pretty shitty thanks to the rail splitting.
  15. Adding feedback is just a band aid and likely does more harm than good.
  16. The L700 is not the same driver as the 009. Similar stator structure but that's it.
  17. Ahhh yes, let's use some old carbon comp resistors and caps which are way past their sell by date. Yup...sounds like a plan. The Riken and Koa's are pretty nice though but miles away from the old stuff.
  18. No but can you see any other reason for that? I mean these are 1ohm 5% carbon resistors so it is clearly a scam with no proven benefits.
  19. Those or something very similar are what I'm using.
  20. That's because he's paid to like it. Sort of makes his entire stance worthless IMO...
  21. If you want SS then build a Dynahi... It's stable too which is always nice...
  22. The last picture is apt as the authorities are trying to keep people alive in that place. Basically if you venture into the surf you are done for as it will grab you and smash you to bits. Pretty sad how reckless people are here given that there are deathtraps everywhere.
  23. Well you could recoat but it is not a simple thing to do. Well the actual process is simple but it has ramifications. First off, opening the drivers will introduce them to dust and squealing. Second you need to coat both drivers and getting right isn't so easy. You might end up with constant static hissing or massive charge issues.

    Dat is tru...
  25. Actually just one but I'm too busy to update the website...
