I've been down this road before and it is a dangerous way to DIY, as in I have these two parts, let's spend 400$ on parts for it... As for those specs, the M3? It uses a single brick psu but sounds pretty shitty thanks to the rail splitting.

Adding feedback is just a band aid and likely does more harm than good.
-
The L700 is not the same driver as the 009. Similar stator structure but that's it.
-
Ahhh yes, let's use some old carbon comp resistors and caps which are way past their sell by date. Yup...sounds like a plan. The Riken and Koa's are pretty nice though but miles away from the old stuff.
-
No but can you see any other reason for that? I mean these are 1ohm 5% carbon resistors so it is clearly a scam with no proven benefits.
-
Those or something very similar are what I'm using.

That's because he's paid to like it. Sort of makes his entire stance worthless IMO...

If you want SS then build a Dynahi... It's stable too which is always nice...

The last picture is apt as the authorities are trying to keep people alive in that place. Basically if you venture into the surf you are done for as it will grab you and smash you to bits. Pretty sad how reckless people are here given that there are deathtraps everywhere. -
Well you could recoat but it is not a simple thing to do. Well the actual process is simple but it has ramifications. First off, opening the drivers will introduce them to dust and squealing. Second you need to coat both drivers and getting right isn't so easy. You might end up with constant static hissing or massive charge issues.

Actually just one but I'm too busy to update the website...

Antek transformer as well...
-
No need to recoat the diaphragms. Either they will bounce back on their own or try to hit the offending side with a bit of force. That might fix it.
-
Go go magical 1ohm 5% resistors.

Who needs an arc welder then...

Expensive and/or raved-about headphones that actually suck!

Well the 007 is pretty much impossible to get now with a huge waiting list but a lot of the 009's popularity stems from one simple fact, it is the most expensive of the lot. Same thing for the new L700, how many have considered the L500 over the 700? Probably not many as more expensive is always moar bettah. -

I really think this is over exaggerated compared to much simpler dynamics such as the experience of the listeners and, which cuts to the core here, how many are actually using the 007's correctly? The SR-Omega and SR-009 are plug and play but the 007 sure as hell isn't. Something as simple as how the earpads are mounted is crucial and I've seen stock sets from the factory with them incorrectly seated. Add to that the earpad condition, rotational position plus the angle and pressure of the arc... there are a lot of variables. I have a hard time believing that anybody find the artificial upper midrange of the 009 accurate. But hey some people think the HE90's are accurate and neutral so there is some really stupid shit out there. One more thing, blaming our amps for Stax being bright is utterly idiotic and ass backwards. The 006t, 007t and 727 roll off the top end a lot plus inject a lot of distortion in the upper registers. -

The bottom line for me is that the 007's are more correct and sound "real". Many of my recent amps have been going to musicians and they all say the same, the 009 just sounds wrong. The hyped up top end, lackluster soundstage and well...missing bass all adds up to that. Doesn't mean you can't like that sound but yeah.. the 007 is better. -
I just looked at the internal pics I have of the stock 300SEI and the heaters for the 300B's are bad...real bad. They are just a tap off the transformer, fed through a diode bridge and into the tubes. Quite possibly the worst way to do this.

It is quite amusing to us "invaders" to listen to the northern dialects as they are so similar to Icelandic in many ways. -
It is actually PVC film (the lack of tensile strength is a dead giveaway) and I have no idea where to source it in that thickness. What I've done is to find the thinnest fruit bags (those clear ones that come on a small roll) I can get and use them loosely tensioned.
-
Open it up and see if there is anything amiss? I think the tubes are AC heated in the 300sei so they should work unless the transformer is busted. Edit: Light up that is.

You need to slaughter innocent XLR's to get them...
