  1. The B- is way higher than the cathode to heater level so it is impossible to separate them.
  2. That one should be just fine if the pinout matches. Couldn't be bothered to test it...
  3. That is just too funny. This thread has had a lot of impact on the design of those headphones...perhaps we should ask for a consultant credit?
  4. Happy to help.
  5. Ahhh when it doubt throw a bunch of money at mediocrity and claim it is better. Yup, the sound HF plan.
  6. No would be the short answer. The pinout is different, the transformer setup is different and the bias supply is very different. Now you could rip everything out and do something like that but it would be a lot of work.
  7. Ahhh so a Woo Audio shill...they are always the best.
  8. Who is the shining beacon of fucktardery?
  9. Shocking level of engineering incompetence here... Also who the hell uses mylar for the dust covers? Nahh...nope...not a good idea.
  10. That test they used is so stupid... so what music did she fail at? Stuff that sounds like garbage to begin with...
  11. Yeah I need to up the grump factor!! I find it really interesting that they don't open up headphones...given where they came from. Ripping apart Fostex sets...

Ahhh Corner Gas...such brilliance. Trailer Park Boys is also a special kind of crazy though it did get a bit thin after a while.

If you want something dark with the same actor as from the clip above, check out 19-2. The English version that is...probably one of the best shows ever made. Seriously, the first episode of season two... shit!! There are also a pile of quirky Canadian shows that have been brilliant low key oddity. Keeping with the hockey theme... Rent-a-goalie was excellent.
  14. Indeed, a 400$ set of the cheapest Stax set would be the mandatory minimum just to see how the industry standard does it. There is nothing wrong with new ideas, hell Stax once though dual solid dust covers was a bad idea or purely air damping would never really work but here we are. Simply covering up what you are doing and being misleading about it...that's something different.
  15. Dan is now my spirit animal, he clearly knows nothing about electrostatics, how Stax are made etc. so he just spreads misinformation to cover his ass.... Oh that. My understanding is that they used that on some older models, but it is not in use on their newer products. Among other things that would effectively triple the mass of the driver the driver. Every Stax set made since 1993 has been fitted with loose, wrinkled PVC dust covers on both sides of the drivers and they add nothing to the mass of the diaphragm or the driver. See there is this thing call physics...Dan should really look into that. It's kinda cool and does explain some things...
  16. One small issue with that...she's gluten intolerant...
  17. Well the dust cover will not provide any protection at these voltages so yeah...couple this with an amp with no output protection and there might be serious trouble.
  18. That is...ehhhh... a bit accurate.
  19. Been there, done that. I'm even going to sell off part of my collection now as I simply never have time to use this stuff. I buy them and then they just sit so I'm kinda tired of this accumulation of gear. https://mjolnir-audio.com/projects/ Bunch more to come... I have way too much crap.
  20. That's a very nice price indeed. The T2 also appears to work which is a nice bonus...
  21. Who wants to bet they are using 800V mosfets for the output?
  22. The leather earpads might be interesting. Same for the HD6XX leather pads for the HE60...
  23. Indeed!!!
  24. Nahhh it's still fugly as all shit. Worse than that, the shell doesn't protect the fragile drivers which is kinda its main role...
  25. Hmmm here I was thinking I had a trademark on RedVodka?
