  1. Oooohhhh S-Logic Plus!!! "Taking the marketing crap in our other headphones to a whole new level!"
  2. It's pretty much just the teflon sockets, the rest is all on a similar level of crap.
  3. The condition is pretty crappy and it will be a lot more expensive in the end, deputy service fees, shipping inside Japan, shipping to you and then customs fees. It all adds up...
  4. Yeah, I just spent a good part of last Saturday cutting up all my old Kimber powercords (to make two or three out of one 2M unit) and ripping apart the last Virtual Dynamics Power3 cord I had. It was a lot of fun the braid the solid core wire inside that garden hose though.
  5. Indeed, let alone a used 2050 set bought when the Yen was nice and cheap.
  6. The SR-Lambda (normal bias), SR-Lambda Signature, Nova Basic, Nova Classic and Nova Signature are all well worth it to seek out. The Lambda Spirit/Pro Classic is also a very nice headphone if a bit rare. I also quite like the SR-202 which is now turning into a vintage model since there is a new one out.
  7. I suppose Kevin got the same answers as when I bring any of the electrostatics over to the local Sennheiser rep...
  8. Wait, what!!??!! I think they are the bestest evah since I can clearly hear a difference between the fugly stock cable and the purdy 500$ cable I just bought!
  9. There is indeed something special about the Nova's but keep in mind that with the Classic and Signature, it's a good idea to change out the stock earpads if they aren't trashed by now.
  10. That amp in particular is very easy to change to 230V. There is a plug/socket affair on the back so you just pull out plug and move it so that the arrow points at 230V. Some of the Stax amps are like this while others require you to move some wires around or solder in some jumper wires. Both are easy once you know how they should be configured.
  11. One has to be quick to snap up a SR-Lambda these days so that has to be taken into account. I'm with Deepak though, the Lambda Pro isn't bad by any means but the older SR-Lambda is very special.
  12. I for one never use flux and I've never seen the need to do so.
  13. I did something truly nuts tonight, listened to the BHSE at max volume (from a 2V source) just to see what would happen. What I listened to was the beginning drum solo of Megadeth - Trust with the SR-007 Mk1. It was more then enough to make the Omegas start to vibrate but both headphones and amp held up perfectly. Now we are pretty far away from the imminent destruction territory for the Pro bias sets here (+/-600V rails would land us there) but still this was very loud indeed.
  14. Holy hell, where did they dig out a LNS part...
  15. Ahhh but they aren't traditional products. It's all been stolen from Germany...
  16. Falls right in with our other Nordic foodstuffs, all of them are horrid.
  17. IS that the stuff they had at FFF?
  18. It has been asked before so read the damn thread...

    Audeze LCD-2

A fully refurbed SRM-1 Mk2 is a solid budget unit but there is a way to go.

    Audeze LCD-2

Nahh, he wasn't even a member. Simply owning Stax gear isn't enough any more to be one...
  21. Have a great day Santa.
  22. How much power the O2's need isn't really that straight forward. More power is always better but they also seem to "like" certain amplifier traits more then others which is why the small SS amps work better then the Stax tube amps even though the latter has more power. The later BH has one 10M90 per tube instead of the six 2SA1968's.
  23. I'd say this could have been a source issue since the KGSS is a lot more powerful than any ES-1/2 ever built. That damn 100+V offset just kills the amp...
  24. They might appear dark off some crappy amp or in comparison with the excessively forward HE-5 but it isn't true.
  25. Also explains why I have no trouble understanding it.
