  5. I've been using my Dynavector XX2 MKII for two years, daily with no problems. It's sound balanced, rich, tons of detail and yet never analytical, I would estimate about 1200 hours. tracks anything, and has the ability to cut through noise thats amazing. has hooked me on Dynas for ever. I would pass on the original XX2 though, to me not as fast or resolving as the MKII. BTW, Ordered a new VPI 17F cleaner today. Here when i get back from FL on the 6th.

  13. Will its been a year with the Harbeths. (and Manley amps) Truly one of the most enjoyable years listening to music I have had. I've probably bought more records since getting the Harbeths than any time prior. It took a couple months to really appreciate what they do, which is recreate recordings in a way few other speakers I have heard can. They (my system in general) walks the fine line of speed & resolution and warmth and musical about as good as I have heard. They play really big and transparent. I've listened to them from 3' away up 13' feet and they sound great at either distance. My goal is to someday own the 40.1s driven by BAT VK-150se amps. But if i stay with the SHL5/Manley combo......no problem. Mostly I wonder how the 40.1s must sound given these are so enjoyable. Anyway just a few thoughts. here is some info from the very down to earth designer. Alan Shaw. Basic facts about Harbeths at home

  21. Ordered an XLR junction box to replace the SE one thats on my VPI table now. Right now I'm running SE inputs on the BAT with shorting plugs in the XLR inputs. Sound is wonderful but according to BAT should get even better. Fairly cheap upgrade (as far as upgrades go) at $300.00 from VPI.
