  1. Dusty, I was the one who was gone for three days. He was out for maybe an hour, but had gone across the street to fight the stray cat that comes around. He's fought him before and lost every time. He's an indoor cat as much as possible. He manages to get out two or three times a month, but usually stays in the bushes in front of my house or under my car, and comes right back in when I call him.
  2. That was her. Glad my experience with her was different than yours.
  3. I had my impressions for UE11 done in Ft. Lauderdale, and they were very close to being perfect, though needed a couple tweaks before just right. I would recommend her. I don't remember who it was, but it was a woman I got off the UE site.
  4. I'm now confused, but since we all have our own realities, I'll accept that this is Mike's world. The problem with furry critters is that the fur hides their wounds. He never even let on that he was ever in any discomfort, even when I brushed him, even on the day I took him to the vet and he already had a bad infection. I don't understand that part, but oh well. I'm typing with one hand now as he's curled up asleep in my other arm, and seems to be happy, even with the bib.
  5. Good news for Fred! Three days and $600 later, I just retrieved Ivan from the vet. He made a beeline for his scratching pad in search of catnip. I feel pretty guilty, and have to be more careful. He'd escaped about three days before I went to Indiana, and my neighbor brought him home, saying he'd been fighting in her carport. I didn't even know he'd gotten out. It took me a couple days after getting back to notice the abscess, and by then it had gotten bad. This is the second time in three months he's made guest appearances at the vet for the same thing, but last time I caught it the day I left for Chicago and just dropped him off at the vet on my way to the airport. I'm supposed to give him ten-minute warm, wet compresses a few times a day. Have you ever tried to hold a wet washcloth to a cat? We'll see how this goes. Right now he's purring wildly at my side, so all's good for now.

  7. Back when I was a very adult 13-year-old, my friends and I would hang outside the 7-11 and get people to buy us Boone's Farm apple something or another when we didn't have enough money for beer. Fortunately, I have no other memory of that stuff or the beer we drank as I'm sure it was something equally horrible. The answer is still JH3A/16 though the 13/pico slim is also an excellent answer.
  8. Shelly, my 12-year-old second cousin told me I must get Angry Birds. Thanks for reminding me. Jin, I just read a review of that app, and it seems to have crashing issues and you can only listen to albums on the web, but not through the app, unless you set up a playlist through the website first. At $3 a month, I'm not yet interested.
  9. Little Things is a nice little game. It's a simple search for objects thing, each round taking between 30 seconds and a few minutes. I wish it had a bit more variation, but it's quick, mindless fun and worth the $3 it cost.
  10. I remember you from when I first started coming around, but then you disappeared. Howdy.
  11. I've been doing it wrong all these years. Oh well. OP, think of it like this: there's nothing wrong with your question except that you didn't bother to look around long enough to know that you were asking the wrong people, or maybe it's that you were asking the wrong question to the right people. At any rate, all the answers you're getting are perfectly right answers, and better answers than the ones you thought you wanted.. I'm going to say JH3A/16. See what I mean? It's really the better answer.

Now that's a welcome home gift! Congrats, Naaman. She's just beautiful. Has any one else noticed that there's been a run of baby girls lately?
  13. I love hockey, but am not sure I like this whole fantasy thing. I'm going to check out fantasy football because it's just another game I don't know how to play, and since I don't really care about any of the real teams, it just fun, or so I hope. Not really willing to do the hockey thing at the same time.
  14. I love the Pierre. Even though I lived in Manhattan, I would occasionally get a room at the Pierre when I wanted pampering for a day or five. Those days are long gone.
  15. Really really sorry, Steve. My day started with the vet as well. Stupid Ivan got in a fight and lost, and had to have kitty surgery. He'll be okay, but he's gotta stay at the vets for a few days. The other cat managed to take out a few chunks of skin and muscle on his back.
  16. Al, congrats to your son. Like Craig said, it's often the brightest kids that have trouble in school. This might be exactly what he needs.
  17. Ethan, sorry to hear you're going through this. I had a boss once who'd get gout flare ups from time to time, and they were pretty debilitating.
  18. Brent, as others have said, I'm sorry to hear this, but as much as you can just focus on what the you need to do for your kids right now and take it from there.
  19. Gene, just had the same experience. I didn't see my ipad all weekend long.
