^ that one could get me fired. Remember, these are former patients, their families, and even staff's families with little kids. I can't be my normal self. Weird that in my groups I can have a fouler mouth than in the dunk tank, but it is what it is.

Okay, there are some good ones here, even though some could get me fired.

Yes, what the title says. I need help. Apparently, the almuni committee where I work voted, and I was chosen, among a few others, to be in a dunk tank for a fund-raising event tomorrow where alumni, family, and other staff puchase balls to throw. I have just been told I am supposed to heckle the throwers. This is sooooo not my forte. The only things I can think of to say probably are what got me in the voted in the dunk tank in the first place, but hardly heckles, or else wildly inappropriate things that would guarantee I'd never be in the dunk tank again, as I would have no more job. Anyway, have at it peoples. I know this is a talented bunch. Give me your best lines.

Just got back from our annual gratitude dinner. 500 alums and family. I couldn't even be my cynical self. It was pretty cool. I couldn't stop smiling all night.

Nice X3. Hope the weather lets you play, Nate.

Chris, I always have cold hands, toes, and nose, even in 90 degree weather. I have the toe warmers, but wool socks are fine for now. I just didn't think about my hands.

I just came in from a very short ride. It was chilly. I got the layers thing figured out and my body was fine, but I was not anticipating the wind and cold on my fingers. Shifting and breaking with numb fingers isn't easy. Must get fingered gloves for my ride next weekend just in case.

I'm excited for you, Chris. Nice!

Did 45 with the same group from yesterday, though only four of us made it to the end of the planned ride. The group was slow, and I mean 12 mph slow. I rode ahead in order to get to the 10AM cut-off time for egg sandwiches at the deli in Briny Breezes, and ordered for all. I'd planned to do 15 more miles, but Day 2 on a new saddle was not as happy as Day 1. I have some very tender sitbones, but still prefer this to the other saddle. With my co-worker and friend, Phoenix (oddly, also used to work with jp), and his friend Kim to the right.

Ban him!!!!!

You guys are great. HC'ers alone have pretty much got me to the goal, but what's even better, since each rider must raise $1250 to be able to ride, you've allowed me to donate the money I'd saved in case I didn't meet my goal to a friend who wasn't going to make it. You also allowed me to leave my co-workers alone for money, and let my two co-workers who are riding hit them up, as they don't have the same good fortune as I do with you. I can't express how appreciative I am. This is the last big training weekend, and I'm taking it easy (20-30 mile rides) after this. Did 80 miles today with 60 planned tomorrow. It was gorgeous out! I'm getting excited.

Nice, Wayne. I hope your beard is Santa worthy!

Since Mike deleted the old one, I'm starting a new one. Did 80 miles today. It was the best cycling weather I've experienced since getting a bike. Absolutely perfect. I accidentally didn't get up on time (had my phone, which is my alarm, on silent and didn't know), and rushed out the door, forgetting that I didn't take the new saddle off my bike and also forgetting chamois cream. I got lucky and think this saddle is a winner. No issues at all. My butt and bits apparently like leather saddles. I road with my "team" from the Smart Ride, and this week, there were some stronger riders, so averaged 17-18 going north in the headwind, and 20-22 coming back south. Really fun folks, so had a great time. Doing 60 tomorrow, as this is the last weekend I can do any miles before the event. I think we should ban Mike.

Congrats! That sounds like a winning situation to me. Good luck, CJ.

Crappy, that's really good new about your dad. The rest is icing. Glad you had a good day.

You guys are the bestest!

As some of you know, I have been training for the past couple months to participate in 165-mile cycling event from Miami to Key West on November 16 & 17th. The Smart Ride (this is the 9th annual event) raises money for direct service HIV/AIDs organizations in Florida, and what I like about this charity ride is that the cost of the event is covered by the riders' fees and donations from separate fund raising events, and 100% of the money raised by the riders goes directly to the organizations. Each rider agrees to raise $1250, and in my normal, lame, wait-to-the-last-minute style, I am just now starting to raise funds. A co-worker and fellow rider made the first donation to guilt me into getting me off my azz (it worked). The agencies that will benefit from your donations: Center for Positive Connections-Miami/Dade Pride Center at Equality Park-Fort Lauderdale/Broward Children's Diagnostic Center -Fort Lauderdale/Broward Miracle of Love-Orlando/Central Florida CAP of the Palm Beaches Metro Wellness & Community Centers Tampa/St Pete AIDS Help-Florida Keys/Monroe County Although the monies are split between the organizations, I am very happy to be riding with the team from the Pride Center in Ft. Lauderdale. Here's my donation page. https://www.thesmart...edge/pages/253/ I strongly believe in this charity event, have worked hard to get from being able to only ride 30 miles without dying to feeling confident I can do 100 the first day and 65 the second. I'm excited to participate and truly appreciate your support. Any little amount will help!

I've done this a couple times for over a week with the hurricanes that hit this area. Oddly, I didn't mind being with electricity. I just can't stand the noise of the generator, and far prefer being hot and without lights. Glad people are alright. Hoping Crappy's dad makes out okay.

I was just thinking about my friends who had basement apartments in the East Village. Holy hell.

Watching the weather channel on youtube. Just saw my pics old neighborhood (14th and C; I lived on 13th and B and then on B between 9th and 10th)with the cars under water. Damn.

Just got an email from our PA office. All our computers and phones are hooked up through PA, so if the power goes out there, we've got nothing here, confirming, as I thought when that the powers in the mothership made that happen, what a fucking stupid idea.

This is kicking up bad memories of hurricane days down here. Stay safe, peoples.

And again!

Sounds like a great day, Brent!
