Liar! At least I get to hear this one before it disappears. Looks gorgeous. Congrats. How happy are you now with your new speakers, amp(s)?...wait....new everything?
-
arrrrgh. I forgot. Thanks for reminding me. I'll be there. I'm doing a comparison between the Equinox and the G52 Senn cables right now. I'm interested in hearing your new one as well. I'll bring both the 650s and 600s. Since I couldn't decide which one to sell, I decided to keep both. You said you'd sell me that tt in one year. Remember, I'm saving for a car this year.

Nice scores, Dan and Steve. I haven't bought anything fun in awhile, though I did find these nice little meal replacement packets that are vegan, tasty, low in calories, high and protein, and I can put in my purse. I'm still finding it hard to eat six times a day per my plan, and sad to say that finding those was actually exciting....maybe the most exciting thing I've done in a week...more than a week I really must get out more. Perhaps dumping the boyfriend was a bad idea.

Happy Birthday, Steve!

Happy Birthday! I hope it's a good one. anyone want to take bets on drunken posting within the next 24?

That was the song I was thinking of when I made my comment. What makes them any different than Journey or other bands that sound like that from 20 years ago?
-
There could be a charge later on.

Well, that's why my smilie. Ouch though on your schedule. I just pulled 72 hrs in 5 days, but today I'm lounging.

Must must listen to X!!! We have very different tastes. I got Super Band Band Band in last year's head-fi X-mas exchange. I thought it was booooring.

I tried to grab it, but I only had a screen up prior to that post. Ah well. Memories. Though something about moonlight walks with postjack sounded a bit terrifying. Doesn't postjack sound like a good murderer name? Oh wait. I'm now remembering my old fav comic Grimjack (had every issue). I think some of that flavor seeped in. Dang, I use to like Swamp Thing, too. Working consecutive 16hr days has done this to my brain. Nate's a better man than I

but just I learned I'd been missing out on single's dances and kittens. What have you guys been hiding from me?

I think he was being dramatic, but again, it's how he framed it. If you're going for dramatic humor to offset a basic whine, you need to move into full-fledged satire, overt self-deprecation, or the like. Perhaps the flaw is his stylistic mediocrity. Or maybe he's just a brat.
-
It's not the fact that he was disappointed. I can sympathize with that. I also have zero problem with him being able to afford any dang thing he wants, including chartering a private plane to go to the concert. It's how he framed it. Calling the world cruel and and whining about not being about to go to a concert costing him over $1500 simply because he's not yet 18 is bratty, plain and simple. Maybe he was shooting for dramatic effect. I dunno. It hit me wrong first thing in the morning after working four 16hr shifts in a row.

Just checked out X Japan. From my little sampling, they remind me of why grunge needed to come and destroy 80's "rock" bands.
-
Just got caught up with that thread. Egad. Nate's post is perfectly reasonable. Grawk with the autism post
-
You might want to work on your perspective of a cruel world, and get some freaking gratitude. You sound disturbingly entitled.

Happy Birthday, Stephen!

There might be something to it, but it won't fundamentally change the sound of a headphone, which was what I was told to keep listening for.

I think it gives people something to do. I remember asking Mikhail about burn-in, and he told me to just listen to music. I've only heard K701s that had many hours on them, so I don't know. The only time I experienced anything with burn-in was with a Hornet, but like laxx's K701s, it was more around 30-40 hrs, and that was that. I remember being very frustrated in the Ultrasone thread, when I didn't like my 2500s, and people kept telling me I hadn't burned them in long enough. I had them up to 200 plus hours, and still didn't hear a difference in the metallic highs, so everyone starting telling me that mine were defective.... How many hours for Ultrasone's now? Have the 701s surpassed?

Pars, though the ESW9s are great for not leaking music out, they're not so great at keeping the sounds around you from getting in. If you want isolation, get iems. EDIT: I've never heard the K271s, so I can't help you there.

When flying back from CA, I asked tyrion, who was sitting next to me, to tell me if he could hear my music, then I turned it up louder than I would ever listen to it. He said he couldn't hear it at all. I ended up switching to my Etys, though, as I could hear more of the plane and people than I wanted to.
-
Funny how we all hear things differently. I hear no thumping bass with the ESW9s, though there's a fullness that can sound congested with heavy instrumentation, and I definitely can't find a sense of brightness anywhere. The tone is to the warm side if anything, imo. As to clamping, zippo right out of the box, but I have a smaller head than some it seems. Maybe that explains our different hearing as well.

He looks like he could kick some vet-butt.

Nice cat, Dusty. My cat of one month has turned into a noisy terror. I took him to the vet again yesterday for his booster shot, and he fought the vet and the techs (three) so hard, even after they got him in a cat bag, he kept fighting, and so nothing doing, no shot for him. They told me I couldn't get him fixed until after he'd had his second shot, but relented out of pity, and he'll get fixed in two weeks. Hopefully, he'll stop his all-night yowling. They'll give him the booster after they knock him out. The vet named him Ivan the Terrible, and put it in the computer that way.
