  1. Cats are always very helpful with paperwork. My old cat used to help me grade papers by chewing and ripping at the edges to help reduce my workload once I'd fallen asleep. She tried her best. The students also seemed to appreciate her marks more than mine.
  2. Hey, Chris. I just saw your review here linked to the SPL website under forums: Product Description: Sound Performance Lab
  3. a full report with pics, of course, now is required.
  4. Is that really your username of choice, as in you typed it all by yourself and said, "Good idea!"? There are a couple admins here I'm sure will help you change it. You might not even have to ask.
  5. You are missing the key connection here, Dusty. The word "one" and "minimal" go together, a point on which I think everyone will agree. It's quite simple. As long as I stick to the number one, it's all good. These gentlemen clearly understand how things work.
  6. I can see the headlines now in the Sun Sentinel: Lawyer and Banker Shootout in Plantation over Dac. Hey, isn't Carl the photo editor there? That could a nifty scoop for him.
  7. You are now an official member of Team Minimal, having full comprehension of what's needed to fulfill your membership responsibilities. Welcome!
  8. Still working: one killer 'stat (O2), one killer dynamic (R10), one all-rounder (HF2), one fun 'phone (225), one closed portable (esw10), one killer iem (JH13), one gym iem (UE11), one great earbud (PK1), one beater (PX100), and now one ortho (YH100). Only one of each in a category is the rule of Team Minimal.
  9. Yup and yup. After living with the HD800s for a couple weeks now, and genuinely appreciating them as one of the best headphones currently available, I just sold my pair to another, who is fortunately letting me keep them for a couple weeks so I can continue to enjoy them as I do. They just aren't R10s or O2s, and my HF2s have rounded out all the full-size joy I need at home. It feels rather strange to be giving up headphones I like as much as these, but I'd rather send them on to a good home. I also just picked up NoNoNoNoNoNo YH100s to ease the pain of my loss. This should be fun.
  10. Bad iphone picture taken of Ivan the Monster, who is 23 pounds and still growing, but not even fat. You can't even see that his paws are enormous, since he has the one all tucked up. He's a real pain, but I kinda like him for it. Oh...and cute kittens, Dusty and Pabbi.
  11. Yup, that was one of the two I liked.
  12. Do you remember where they were in his room? That might be one of the models I was thinking about.
  13. I know nothing about that model. There were three Sennheiser portables in Tyll's room at CanJam, two on the back table, and one on the left. Two sounded not bad at all, and I was wishing I'd written the model numbers down as I have friends that would like them. Does anyone know? What's your definition of cheap, ronnielee54? Outside of the standard recommendations (KSC75, 35s, PX100s, etc ), I don't know what else is out there in the under $100 range.
  14. I don't know what I'll be bringing, but I'm going to try and get whatever it is to Mike's on Thurs.
  15. This cd has a great cover of Neil Young's "For the Turnstiles," (rocking on HF2s), and that's not easy to pull off. Actually, they always pull off great covers that make you think they were theirs the whole time, and you almost forget the originals. I love these gals.
  16. Happy birthday, crappyjones! Hope your head is healing fine, and that you have some fun today. See you at Mike's in a couple weeks.
  17. I did get your pm, thanks, but any old cat won't do. Cats are stupid. M&P kittys, however, are all the rage. I also got an email from Jerry a bit ago saying he can guarantee the art will look good, and if I'm not happy, he'll remove it. So, cool. I'm going to go ahead with it.
  18. People start stupid threads all the time when they have nothing better to do. That's no reflection on the quality of the headphones, just on the mindless stupidity of some people. Of the 20 or so of us that have had HF2 since CanJam, most have a little bit of experience with a wide range of headphones, including other Grados, none are prone to exaggerating qualities, and none have a vested interest in seeing if they succeed or not. Might want to search through the weedy posts to find why we like them. No one's claiming they're the second coming of anything, but they're really good headphones. Hopefully, when others start getting them, there will be more content and less pre-game chat, as one member called it.
