  1. They're not prominent, just annoying. Kinda a steely tone.
  2. oooh. That's not good. Thanks for the heads up. I still like the case. I'll just be careful. I think people are bending back the front cover like a paperback to make it comfy to hold. I started to do that, but wondered it if was pulling on the connection dohickies too much, so stopped, and just take it out of the case, except when using the light at night in bed.
  3. I ended up not taking them into the office today, as I had too much other stuff to bring, but I have them set up in my bedroom and am listening to them now. They don't cut it as bookshelf speakers, but I can already tell I'm going to be happy with them on my desk in the office.
  4. Well, you could talk about writers/artists has you have with Chekhov. That might be interesting. When I was your age, I was also heavily into all those you mentioned. Beckett and Kafka became less interesting to me as I got older, and and I appreciated Borges and Cervantes far more. Have no idea why. I haven't read Chekhov in at least 20 years, so maybe it's time.
  5. I hate the idea of any kind of greatest, because as soon as you start thinking that way, you're not only already wrong, you inescapably narrow your experience of things by trying to make it fit into a hierarchy. Great art has always defied hierarchies by simply existing. What bad irony it is to then do that with great artists such as Chekhov, Beckett, Borges, Cervantes and Kafka, as well as thousands more, and even thousands more we'll never know. It makes no sense.
  6. Though it's probably obvious since I haven't posted much in this thread lately, and started up again today, I bought a boatload of music last week and am finally having time to enjoy it. I recommend anything I've posted so far today. Really nice.
  7. They came today, and although I've only set up them up on an ironing board so far just to see if they work, I think they'll do just fine. I'm going into the office in about an hour, so I'll set things up and see how they really sound. What's nice is that they're pretty small, but have a bit of heft to them. Each speaker comes in a soft bag, so you could travel with them if you wanted. Even from their ironing board perch, they sound better than the one-box ipod speakers I was checking out last weekend, so thanks again for the recommendation.
  8. I think it was Mike, but it fit. John, really glad you're planning on making it.
  9. Wayne, if you end up not liking your, I order this one in blue and really like it. The Kindle locks in place. I take it out most times when reading, but it's good for lugging it around, and you can get a light which secures into the cover, and I've been using it at night.
  10. Big congrats on the house. Weren't you looking for a long time?
  11. Nah. I like it well enough.
  12. Well, I guess I should have waited rather than buying a Kindle a couple weeks ago. Oh well. I still like it.
  13. I'm confused. Do you already have YH100s or are you talking about the pair I just sold you today?
  14. Damn, Doug. Glad you're okay.
