  1. I'm not really a pvc piping type gal.
  2. So the A5s may be the way to go, but that will not be for a few months. Between the A2s, the ipod classic, a CD buying binge, the FoxL, a camera, the Iggy Pop poster, not cheap framing on two posters, a print of Arvo Part I bought from the photographer and the framing for that, and....er.....other random stuff, my toy money has been depleted. Tis now the season to buy for others. I have the feeling this year's Christmas bonus won't be as pretty as in previous years, so I'll just live with what I've got, and maybe by early spring, I'll have a better idea and some more cash to get something I prefer. Oh...and I've been listening to that little FoxL thing for a couple days. It reminds me of a decent clock radio I used to have. I'll hang on to it for awhile, mostly for travel, but since I don't really travel.....
  3. Yay, Vincent. Happy Birthday!
  4. Thanks. For my needs and at that price, it fits perfectly. Purchased. And thanks to all for your suggestions.
  5. It's not great, which is sad because I like the musicianship. I recently bought a mound of cds, and this is the one I won't be listening to much at all, or ever, again.
  6. ^ No. Never even heard of them before, though pretty much everything I've gotten from head-direct has been to my taste. Hmmmmm.
  7. Just got this today. I've always been a fan of her songwriting, but somehow missed this one, which came out a few years ago. Maybe it's just the good mood I'm in, but it may be my favorite.
  8. Well, I got this little thing today, and I'm listening to it now. It's certainly not the end-all-be-all of audio reproduction, but I'm really quite pleased with it, especially for its size and the fact that it can run/charge with usb and wall thingy, and has a 5 hour battery life. It's really really tiny. It distorts at volumes that would fill a medium-sized room, but I don't think that's the point of these. There's no real bass and no real treble, but the mids are really nice, and I'd almost take the lack of bass over the bass bloat I'm getting with the A2s, though I'm getting a bit more used to those and just limit what I play with them. You can buy an additional mini sub woofer, but since I view these as uber-portable speakers, that sort defeats the purpose....maybe if I had to live in hotel rooms.....Anyway, thanks Stretch for the suggestion. It's not going answer the office rig question, but it definitely will get its share of use.
  9. I might take you up on that. Let me look around a bit (I haven't actually looked at any cameras in person yet) and I'll get back to you.
  10. I have the big Plitron and no multimeter.
  11. I was wondering that as well.
  12. How does the Panasonic do in low light conditions? The Lumix DMC-ZR3 is $276 and the Lumix DMC-ZR1 is $232 right now on Amazon. What the heck is an Eye-Fi card?
  13. I'm afraid to think about what you guys would come up with.
  14. I seem to have lost my camera. It was quite old and not very good anyway. I'm in the market to get a new one. Wants: Ease of use. I'm not much of a photographer, but would like to be able to quickly, easily take a pic without much fuss and bother. Small size and fairly durable. Can drop in my purse without fear (my purse is actually very neat with no random debris lying about the bottom). Not expensive. Since I have no plans to use it often, I see no need to spend big bucks on this. I'm looking at $100-300. I've been looking around at cameras, and there are hundred that seem to fit my want list. I'm trying to narrow down the choices, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'll take them.

  17. Thanks, Mike. So I guess I'm bringing the Denon/SP/R10 rig, which will be its last outing.
  18. Hopstretch, I did just pick up one of these as the non-bluetooth version is again available. I've re-centered my expectations to be realistic for what I'm getting (pocket-sized speakers), so I'm hoping to be pleased enough with them for their intended use, which will be primarily for travel. I'll report back when I get them, which according to amazon, will be on the 10th.
