  1. The only Mark Lanegan CD I own is Bubblegum, which I quite like, but forgot about entirely. I'm not familiar with his others. Just found it in a box of other forgotten CDs. Thanks, Jin!
  2. Happy birthday, Shelly. Hope you have a great day!
  3. Gutter Twins - Saturnalia Don't even know how I learned of this, but found it a couple days ago in a stack of unopened cds I'd bought on a midnight binge a couple months ago, and I've listened to it a few times since. Minus the production quality, I'm loving every track on this cd, a collaboration between Greg Dulli of Afghan Whigs and Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age. Mark's voice has an Iggy vibe, which makes the fact that this goes leans a wee bit too pop/rock for me all fine with me.
  4. I have to go to sleep early tonight and will miss the Wings game. Maybe that's a good thing. Damn, I really do need to go to sleep. Game isn't even tonight.
  5. Yup. That's pretty much where I started off after work today. All better now. More Nick Cave:
  6. Really glad to know that all's okay, laxx. Got pulled into running an experiential group today (family sculpturing), something I've tried to avoid because although I know how to do that kind of thing, it's definitely not my strength, and I have a pretty hefty bad attitude about the perceived benefit of such therapy, outside of trauma work, for most adults in general. Afterwards, got told it's now to be a regular Friday group for me. Blech on soooo many levels. I'm going to listen to some music, hopefully mellow out, and get to sleep early tonight. Big day tomorrow starting at 6AM. Hoping to raise some money and have fun with kids.
  7. Happy birthday to you. Hope life is treating you well.
  8. Epic choke begins. 7-1 Wings!
  9. After work today, went to a patient and alumni talent show. Most of it involved songs and acts parodying staff. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. It was really good and scary accurate.
  10. Eeek at the rattler. I had a coral snake once in my yard. I stood there staring at it trying to remember the little rhyming thing about the ring colors to see if it really was a coral snake, and my next door neighbor yelled at me while running out with a shovel. The snake got away.
  11. Thanks to Jeff: Nitty Gitty Dirt Band - Will the Circle be Unbroken
  12. You're welcome. Check out Chinatown
  13. Neil Young - Live at Massey Hall 1971
  14. Spent a strangely wonderful evening with a group of people who spoke no English except for one other person. Since I speak no Russian, the first fifteen minutes or so was awkward, but after that, it was freeing and very comfortable to just sit and enjoy good people and good food without having to say a word or try at anything.
  15. This CD, as well as their Chinatown, are ones that I return to over and over and over, and they always make me happy.
  16. Hoping for a hometown boost tonight for the Wings. I'm probably going to miss the game due to plans with a friend, and maybe that's a good thing..... \
