Sorry to hear about that letter Colin . As others have said, keep on trying and forging ahead.

Yeah. That was a major bummer. To think that hurricane was headed for Oahu and then it turned toward Kauai. Those were hard times for a bunch of folks.

Here is a good article that compares the Kindle and Kindle2 with pics: Amazon Kindle 2 Vs. Kindle Original: We Compare - PC World

Yup, no kidding. They are really cheap. Good move on not getting the adapter since that may give you read/write errors when reading or burning a disc.
-
That sounds like a good plan since burners are so cheap. If you do get the adapter let us know how it goes. I never did try an adapter like that. Just wondering if you would get errors while burning your discs since the adapter is there.

Congrats on the new job Ken. In regards to a laptop, I have a HP laptop for 2 years now. It is a 17" laptop and before this laptop, I've owned two Toshiba's and a Sony. I've used Dell laptops and HP laptops at work as well. Clients have purchased IBMs, Dell's, Gateways, Toshiba, Apple, Sony, Asus, etc. From my experience HPs gave the most problems. My HP laptop just 1 month ago had the left hinge break. Keep in mind that I transport this thing in a laptop bag from home and work. I don't travel with this the laptop or use it anywhere but those two locations. Come to find out HP had a class action lawsuit for my laptop and many other laptops with a design defect on the left hinge. Folks were fighting HP for a year I believe trying to get them to admit there was an issue. Folks were paying out of pocket hundreds of dollars to get that fixed to HP. In addition to the left hinge, I've had other people that purchased HP laptops have the LCD screen just either stop working or have white and black lines on them. To cost to fix it was in the $700 and up range since they had to replace the LCD screen. At that point you just get a new laptop. Now the Toshiba's I had are still going strong as I sold one 6 years ago and another 4 years ago and they are being used every day in business offices and going strong. I've had a Sony I purchased 4 years ago and a client purchased the exact same model with better specs 3 years ago and they travel all over with them and they are going strong. Not to say all HPs are bad, but I would research the class action lawsuit on the left hinge and with any brand there willl be winners and complete lemons as well. I just wanted to share my experience with those laptops. Lastly, the Dells we have at work ranging from 1 to 3 years are all working fine with no problems. We have about 15 to 20 Dells and the same amount of HPs too. The HPs are running fine as well. If you just need one for work and could hook one up to an external model I would look at a netbook. I have a ASUS and I love it. Hope that helps and good luck with your job

Thanks for the response . I've been using Diskeeper for several years and whether it helps with or without it I'm not sure any more. I was going to disable the service for a week and not install or change anything on my system to see how much it helps but haven't got around to doing that for a long time I live on Oahu. I like Kauai as it is a laid back environment and it is very beautiful. I haven't been to Kauai in a while (over 15 years), but I'm sure it changed just a little bit in regards to big retail stores open there. I remembered when I was there stores were closed at 5:00 or 6:00 pm.

Lamb of God - Wrath

Wow. That's good to know that it works on much older laptops. Also having that much free space than what your other Windows OS was before. What did you have installed before you installed Windows 7 (Windows 2000, XP)? Also, how do you like Diskeeper Pro Premium 2009? Any slow downs when the Diskeeper service is running in the background?
-
Oh. I didn't know that. I like him as the lawyer in BSG.
-
Thanks for the pics Steve and impressions. It looked like a wonderful meet
-
Me three. It helped put some background in the story. Also the lawyer from BSG was on too. Can't wait to watch next week

I am wondering the same thing. It's nice to see those wooden boxes back for the Grado cans

But wait, it does this, "iPod's stereo signal to 5.1- or 7.1-channel sound" Seriously though, $2000.00, even for MSRP for a dock.

I agree with Stephen that it won't pull you in on the first episode, but I am interested in where Whedon will take us. I'm going to keep on watching it to see how the show develops.

Yup. It was information overload

Thanks for bumping up this old thread Stephen. I almost forgot about this. The DVR will be ready as well like Nate. Can't wait for BSG too
