I mean who knows. Maybe in 5 years 7s will be the new King. Swings in this game are hard to predict... but honestly I'd be very surprised if ED9s/7s ever gain the cult status that L3000s/R10s/HE90 have.

I think you can still get edge only. Plus I'm reasonably sure that they didnt force people that can't even utilize the 3g network to pay an extra monthly fee for nothing... I'm not pro apple in the least, but uh that would be a pretty short sighted move that would kill a big chunk of good will.

Debatable. I looked quickly on ebay and I saw 8 gb first gen iphones going from 150-250 (with bids). This phone doesn't have 3g/gps and has an annoying to use headphone jack and reputedly an inferior dac. But you also pay a bit less a month for service... I think whether or not it is a better value is dependent on the individual in question and it certainly isn't categorically cheaper to all.

Looking on the vaja site it looks like its a 45 day lead time and its pretty pricey. I think I may get the otterbox when it comes out.

Uh if he's calling the 307A bright then the beta22 is gonna be too bright for him too.

Shrug... if I were in your boat the TTVJ amp is a great choice. But I guess if I had to choose between an incredibly accurate amp and a "fun-sounding" one as my end all be all rig's amp.. i would go for accuracy. Even so... you do have some amount of power over the sound with tube rolling. So maybe you can achieve the sound you are looking for with it, but of course that's something you should verify first before sinking 6k into it.

What are people using to protect their iphones? ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | iPhone, iPod Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield this invisible shield business sounds pretty sweet. Definitely getting that. As far as drop protection goes.. Vaja Leather Products these vaja cases sound/look amazing but 85 dollars + a 45 build time kinda kills my interest. iPhone Cases // OtterBox.com might be pretty money though 50 might still be more than I'm willing to spend. Maybe drop protection isn't even worth it for me though.. not sure. What have peoples' experiences been?

My buddy was pretty displeased the iphone doesn't support bluetooth tethering though sadly.

There's something wrong in Colorado...

I'm a pretty big fan boy but this thread is pretty terrifying. I've seen bits and pieces of it before in these forums, but nothing as concentrated as here. -
Crazy that gps setting was default for you. That has to be an aberration though I got mine from an AT&T store as well. First post from the phone hooray!

Lol i dunno I'm basing this on a random review I googled up. No idea if its for rills or not. Haven't had it long enough to really make a call either way... plus never had the original iphone. Sounded plausible if you use 3g though..

Nod but sadly its another one of those features where they like fucking you at the drive through. Though frankly if it was some sort of ultra slim proprietary battery I wouldn't mind buying spares and paying the same price (At least I wouldn't have to deal with bullshit shipping costs/wait times though I'm thinking more along the lines of Cowon which doesn't have Apple style stores). I'm sure there are other design considerations too besides size.. but meh.

Yeah I think I looked up the estimated times and it was 300 hrs pure standby, 10-15 hrs 2g and 5 hrs 3g. But he had 3g turned off... I would hope thats not standard.

Man as far as sound quality out of this piuppy... I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I haven't listened to my D2 or X5 in a long time, but this sounds pretty good. I'm sure it dominates the D2 and may come close to the X5 if not easily eclipsing it. I'm just really impressed by how wide the soundstage is. It's enormous. The bass is kind of indistinct and smeared as is some of the sound in general.. but still very nice for a phone. Noisefloor/hiss with music paused is basically nil with er6is. I should convert and play the silence track from LFF's thingy and test with that but...

Been playing with mine. My brother stood in line for 2 hrs then me and my mom rolled up, joined him and sniped 2 of the last 3 black 16 gbers. I think my only gripe is with the battery life. Its supposed to worse than the old gen one and where most 3g phones have removable batteries so you can swap in new ones this doesnt That is very sad times. Also I have yet to receive one of the 3 test text messages my buddy has but that's probably more just a phone activation thing I wouldn't know since this is like my second cell phone ever.

Offtopic but PFKMan does your: --> Things that have great synergy: <-- section expand and grow more terrifying on a day to day basis? I used to think Trose's sig was terrifying and awkward.

To be fair that kind of thing isn't widely available on the west coast either. They basically only do new built condo/apartment complexes and are an extremely small company that really could fold at any time, but I try not to think about that.

1. Qualias 2. Qualias 3. Qualias 4. HD650s 5. W5000s 6. ER6is 7. ER6is I think in my current work rig the w5000s sound pretty freaking amazing, but the hd650s simply sound good in every single possible set up/gear combo I can field.

Grin, I forget where Rob N lives but given that he has like 5 gigantor singlepower amps I gotta assume his living space must be like a sauna but perhaps he doesn't live in London I forget.
-
What's up with the ultra small space constraints? Is it just the price of UK real estate?
-
Huh I don't by any means have a small head. But I guess mine isn't really large either. I have been able to fit all 3 sizes of Qualias on my head and medium which is my preferred size is considered too large for most people. Perhaps you are one of those rare people that large is the preferred size for ;p But yeah I really liked the HE90s for how comfortable they were. Qualias pretty damn comfortable too but the leather can get sticky in hot weather. R10s are good too.
-
Whatttt you are crazy ;p HE90s are the single most comfortable headphone I've ever worn. Unfortunately that was part of their terror. I was perpetually afraid they would just fall off my head as they felt like they barely were on there at well... yet I never had problems with "seal" or anything like that. O2 mark 2s were not nearly as comfortable in comparison. Are the SR-Omegas more comfortable then those? then maybe I can see it.
-
Eh I had an HE90 and sold it and don't really regret it! Elephas seems to enjoy it though ;p
