  1. dynafet bom digipete - Google Docs Okay I was finally unlazy. Yeah I actually hate docs and spreadsheet, but sometimes it's actually somewhat useful.
  2. Can convert it to a Google Spreadsheet from docs.google.com and make it visible to all.. display as a webpage and put a link here.
  3. Looks like PFKMan is thinking about bowing out.. if anyone is willing to purchase his spot (Pay him for what he's paid for up to now) please let me know asap. Deadline for this is sometime in the next couple weeks since we are ordering the prototype boards/toroids soon and when that happens the opportunity may be gone given the hassle of figuring out cost retroactively. Total for the build including what you'd need to pay PFKMan is looking to be ~1600-1700 depending on options. He opted out of the cinemag input transformers which is a savings of ~100 bucks (Transformers + subsidy for the builder).. but if you are interested and those were something you wanted then you can still acquire them on your own.
  4. Hrmm on the note of Moth rectifiers.. anyone know anything about 6X4 rectifiers and have any recommendations as far as ones to get? That's apparently what the Balancing Act uses.
  5. Just checking to see if basically this release candidate is worthy of prototyping or is everyone waiting on BOM? I think j4cbo is working on it and should have it available soon pending school work load.
  6. What was the thunderbolt I?
  7. Train them to walk each other!
  8. Yeah but the boards havent been ordered yet.. btw since Luvdunhill has transistors already for these prototypes the people prototyping can start building as soon as those are ordered and passive parts are procured for these builds (Not the main passive parts order). What I am going to do is combine the cost of prototype parts/boards and distribute that to everyone when we do the main board order... does that sound reasonable/acceptable? The idea is these guys are donating their time/labor so they shouldn't have to pay for parts/boards and their work benefits the group. It shouldn't be very expensive divided over 10 people or so.
  9. Nod I think luvdunhill and Kevin Gilmore are our two prototypers. New release candidate this weekend I think is the goal
  10. Yeah luvdunhill is going to be ordering an initial prototype one. Like the actual complete order may not happen immediately next week. Just want firmer #s when talking with them. Actually amend that to 8 not 9.
  11. K heard back from vvs for Dreadhead and looser101.. looks like we have a total of ~9 xformers right now. Shooting for 10.
  12. GS-X/ZDT/Electrostatic stuff
  13. Last call on SumR 260VA toroids.. I'll probably make the order next week so if you are interested please let me know as soon as possible/convenient. I believe luvdunhill is collecting payments on cinemags right now so if you haven't heard from him please contact him.
  14. Sigma22s.
  15. It's a good amp. I don't know if it has any sonic differences from a GS-X. I'm interested in hearing the Dynamight and Dynafet though to see which stands on top. Gilmore has said the Dynafet (His newest mosfet based output design) does.
  16. Hooray! Yeah I think j4cbo is already done populating most of 8 boards (No diodes/heatsinks/fets yet)... So I think he will try and get the release candidate updated tonight or soon... but just out of curiosity would anyone else be interested in SumR toroids? I know we shouldn't do anymore buys until prototyping, but since this guy has already worked out the quoting with me extensively I figured I'd start moving forward with it. Luvdunhill/team j4cbo is looking at so far 6 SumR Size is: OD: 6" HT: 3.25" Primary: 2 x 120Vac 60Hz, Sec : 4 x 30V, Total 260VA Price fully encapsulated and shielded: US $ 107.00. Luvdunhill may be on his own as far as transformer since he wants bottom exiting leads and I think team j4cob wants top. Anyways if we have enough to get 10 I think there's a price break, but it's not that significant... so if no one is interested then no worries. If you are let me know and I'll toss your #s into the mix. 300VA I think was the limit of how much VA he could cram into this size can with it still being suitable for audio purposes... we decided to go down a little bit to not push that limit as hard in case our needs are more stringent than his guestimation... but 230VA was the limit of the next size smaller.. and we didn't ask about the next size up. The rate at which cost goes up seems pretty low so if you wanted to get an insanely huge xformer I'm sure it wouldn't be too much more (under 200).
  17. Not all that impressed by the DF1704 myself.. my Assemblage DAC3 had the DF1704 swapped in on an adapter replacing the PMD100 it originally had. I listened to it before and after I swapped the PMD100 back and there was an audible difference in the PMD100's favor. Of course I did lose the ability to do 24/96.. ohwell
  18. FS: Rare Version 6H8C Russian Military 6SN7GT, Nickel Base Tubes (NOS) - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio <- Anyone know anything about this tube? Thinking about stocking up for the Balancing Act.
  19. K grade is just a higher grade. Supposedly there's audibly less distortion. I dunno if they use PMD200.. I'd be surprised. Filburt mentioned that he wasn't terribly impressed with their design though.
  20. Like 250-300 dollar PCM63 DAC ;p
  21. I wonder if the Japanese version also has primaries like that.
  22. Well probably came down to what the new HD800 flagship is.. and it turned out to be dynamic?
  23. Happy birthday!
  24. Yeah the build house is.. not sure if its in that stage. He might still need to take some solid photos of the completed BA before giving his reference to them (I have preliminary photos and it looks pretty sweet, but I think he wants to do some ones with better lighting before posting them on his site). He also might need to do some tweaking with the AD1 tubes (He ended up putting those in his reference because he couldn't find his 307A sockets). After it enters that stage though they should be finished in ~2 weeks... then its probably testing/packing.
  25. Nah.. this was designed/prototyped in parallel with the BA as the Nautilus. His plan was always to have it assembled alongside the current run of ZDs and BAs. This shouldn't influence delivery time on the BA at all.
