  2. Yeah San Mateo's Santa Ramen and Little Sichuan are quite great for ramen and sichuan cuisine. Jeffrey's is good too I've heard.
  3. That stand is awesome looking.

  5. If you want to crash somewhere for free I can offer up my sofa.
  6. I'm there!
  7. What?? You have the change to get a 30.6 and haven't? ;p Do it!!
  8. Hagusb is okay. I use it at work in conjunction with my parasound dac 1500. A bit flaky though. M-audio transit 2496 for life!
  9. A little on the high side but still a good value for 350. 250-300 is more standard.
  10. Dunno I thought for pure sonic quality the pico got stomped pretty hard by my stock 1500 which is basically a balanced 1000. Of course if usb input is a pretty key feature then yeah the 1000 won't be suitable. There's also the small size of the pico dac as well. It's a great dac for sure, but the parasounds have certain design strengths that you really can't replicate in that small package...
  11. OP might be okay if he doesnt own those headphones then
  12. Which headphones did you feel do not work with the ckkiii?
  13. I'd throw a MisterX built CKKIII in the mix.
  14. Your files have been cleared and your order will go into process, the first day is 06/05/09. So if the 5 days are business days it seems like they'll mail out 6/11 or 6/12 with 3 day shipping.. luvdunhill should have them by ~ 6/15 or 6/16
  15. Copy and paste of the prototype order thing. Went with 5 day turn around and fedex express shipping (3 day). Going to luvdunhill... so hopefully something by next next week! 16. No.. boards are still available since we haven't ordered them yet, but if you read earlier this project may be difficult to pursue without some of the transistors that you missed out on. Talk to luvdunhill to see if he can hook you up... Either way after that conversation let me know if you still want boards.
  17. Looks like j4cbo is ready with the board layout infos. Should be receiving the zip of the files necessary to do the order in a bit. After that I'll rock the prototype order tomorrow. Sorry for the wait folks!
  18. My bad I didn't know that existed I was talking about this: TTVJ Millett Hybrid Amp - $459.00 : TTVJ, Todd The Vinyl Junkie
  19. I had the millet portable before and wasn't terrible impressed. It's decentish sounding for a portable amp, but on the move the tubes would clank against the chassis pretty frequently or something would if not the tubes. That pretty much makes it non-portable for me and when you place it in the transportable category it faces pretty stiff competition.
  20. Ah awesome they are the ones I bought from you PM incoming.
  21. Hrm I forgot my Grover S RCAs in the high end room if anyone nabbed them. Some more details here: Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio - View Single Post - CJ Lost and Found
  22. Yeah the audize or however you spell their name was best in show. On hindsight maybe not best headphone ever but very different and insanely fast, detailed and a presentation thats unbelievable esp the imaging. Definately buying one to two pairs. Flaws? Not sure but ive heard others say too bright/agressive/basslight or tone was a bit off but general consensus was that its very interesting and def woth a go at 300-500. The other prototype is less agressive but weaker on the other fronts. It also isolates insanely well for an "open" phone def potentially a work phone. Will try to get one or several and will hold a mini meet for beta testing and feedback in bay area. Hd800s very good but dont need to own it. From the luxman aka als rig and pair it was as fast as advertised, but still a bit slower than ad2000/qualias/k1000 but damn close. Biggest gripe while left and right are widely separated but there sound is very clustered like if a drummer and bass player was standing to the left theyd sound on top of each other or too close to be right. Ive heard burn in improves things but only in fullness. Bhse o2s great. Definately a winning endgame combo. Sr-omegas awesome def better than o2s or he90s for me outa es-2s might flip flop if i spent more time. Balancing act awesome esp witg ad2000s and the planars. Oh yeah hf-2s quiet good. Very fast and along the lines of vintage rs-1s but not quite there/or as refined but for 429 a great deal. Sad things. Sdr-3000 transport issues. Sdr-2000 being too weak to really work with bhse(0.75 volts). Missing pool party. Think i missed out ob meeting nate too thats sad Want to hear things. Head directs orthos. Berkeley alpha dac if one exists. Ps1000s. Maybe woo amps. Man i guess i gotta quit shittalking grados and orthos. Alex of audize or whatever is an awesome dude though and im number teo in line behind the first acolyte kabeer. Must shill harder and faster. Way too much iphone typing and why am i up at 6

Man just found out that 4 door sedans on average can only carry 850 pounds. Got 4 dudes in the car with me for a combined 740 pounds (I will freely admit that I am a big chunk of that at 255). Add clothes and toiletries and electronics and we're basically at 850. To cut gear or not cut gear... If only I hadn't wondered if my car was gonna have issues and found this article: http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2007-09-13-overloaded-cars_N.htm
  24. I have it. It's quite nice if you can get it for under 100 as it does use PCM63s and PCM1702s (Another great R2R dac.. what the trans dac uses) for the surround. I think it's pretty gnarly for a surround sound processor if you dont mind the lack of modern features. As a dac it sounds pretty good, but its noticeably less stacked in the rest of the circuit versus the 2 channel dac series (Less impressive analogue output stage and probably I/V). I'd say versus stock it gives probably at least 70-80 percent of what the other dacs give, but will scale significantly less with mods.
  25. I havent heard the 1000 but I have heard the 1500 which is like a balanced 1000 and it sounds nearly as good or as good as the 1100/1600 stock. However it doesn't decode HDCD and purportedly with both modded the 1100 will edge out the 1000 via having a superior digital filter. As far actual differences in sound... for awhile I thought the 1500 stock versus the 1600 stock was punchier and fuller, but having spent more time lately with the 1600 I now feel its really too close to call with the 1600 perhaps clearer but not really less punchy or full. Sadly since I got my latest 1600 the 1500 has been in my work rig so doing side by sides is tricky nowadays. Again stock.. very nearly too close to call. Given that you do solder though I'd hold out for a 1100 or 1600 just because the differences should become more pronounced with filburt style mods. If you can get the 1000 cheap like 100-150 (I've seen several move for under 100.. I personally wouldnt pay more than 150 at the worst case). Else I'd hold out for a 1100 as long as its 300 or under (200-250 would be nicer but waiting for those prices might take awhile).
